Oral Thrush in 5 month old baby
Hi, I have been seeing a homeopath for the treatment of oral thrush in my 5 month old for nearly 2 months now and it still has not completely cleared up. Originally she had nappy rash, a caked tongue and white marks on the inside of her mouth. Now just the white marks remain. We must have tried 15 different remedies including Pulsatilla, Borax, Chamomilla, Calc Carb, Nux Vom, and still we can not shift the marks. Can anybody suggest anything. I am at the end of my tether.swinter on 2005-05-18

Not really. I'm taking probitics, friendly bacteria and I had some pulsatilla at the very beginning, but I am not suffering any symptoms. I am slowly faising out breast feeding as my daughter does not seem to be getting on with it. She is very unsettled and turns away after only a few minutes. She is gassy and arches her back. I have been upset by this, but am convinced it is not discomfort from the thrush. It;s more like reflux.

I always suggest 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar in glass of water and swab the inside if the mouth with it a couple of times a day. The babies een like the taste!!
If your daughter arches her back Dioscora should help. See your homeopath for it.

I started swabbing with grapefruit seed extract yesterday, which I read on the internet was good, so I will see how that goes. I've also got some friendly bacteria for her, so fingers crossed. I will ask my homeopath about the Dioscora. Thanks for the advice.

pls make sure the friendly bacteria you have is suitable for infants as their gut flora is different to adults.
