Reoccuring Pilonidal CystHey all,
I am a 20 year old caucasian male, 6'5 and 240 lbs. When I was 17, I was inflicted with a Pilonidal cyst, on the right side of my natal cleft, near the top. It had abcessed, and very painful. It was drained and seemed to heal just fine. About 4 months later, it came back again, and the same procedure was taken. About 2 months later, it happened yet again, and the doctors took the same procedure, but also scheduled a consultation with a specialist, who in turn scheduled me for a closed extraction (I think that is the term, cyst was cut out and then stitched back up.) This healed up nicely, and I was cyst free for about 6 months. Then it came back, this time, about an inch and a half lower and to the right. It is basically pain free, maybe some mild to moderate discomfort every so often. It hasn't abcessed or become infected since then. It drains a little to a lot every day. Very rarely, does it not drain at least a bit. The wound currently looks like an indention in the skin, with the middle part raised up. The original location of the cyst feels like it has a hard line underneath, if that makes any sense to you. Sometimes the original spot swells up, or rather hardens, and this is accompanied by the mild or moderate pain in the new location of the cyst. But like I said, it has not been infected or even really inflamed sense I had the surgery. I have tried some nutritional therapy (garlic, chickweed) Chickweed seems to shrink the cyst, and maybe dry it out a little, but never fully completes the job; it seems to plateau. Haven't noticed any difference since I've been taking garlic. My current diet isn't the greatest, but it's not the worst either (Try to do health food all of the time, but sometimes slip and eat junk food, fast food, etc.) I exercise, when I am able, which is most of the time thankfully. I am however, a fairly heavy smoker. Kind of counter-active I know. Anyways, the point of all this is to see if I can get some other homeopathic ways to try and rid myself of this cyst. I'm open to changing lifestyles if need be. I'm just ready to get past this thing. Thanks in advance to anyone who has some advice, tips, etc.
