dog hit by car- emotionally traumatized

short version: (long version below)

- adopted 10 month old dog (left mother behind)
- she is the 3rd dog in our house
- dog timid, quiet, no bark
- dog submissive to 2 older dogs (lots of playfighting with male)
- dog very attached to me, wants to go everywhere I go (I homeschool 3 children and husband travels)
- dog gets hit by car, trapped underneath, minor lacerations, pulled out by police- bit him.
- spent night at emergency clinic
- dog emotionally traumatized after accident
- VERY VERY afriad of many things now, cowers with raised voices or hands either in play or if the kids are mad at each other etc.
- submissive rolls even with me now
- husband doesn't like her
- I think she's amazing and she is not aggressive in the least.

Long version:

We are a homeschooling family (the kids and I are home all the time) that adopted a 3rd german shepherd intact female dog 2 months ago. She was 10 months old when we brought her home, had had her regular shots while with her previous owner. We did not adopt her mother who stayed behind. Her previous owner didn't need a leash or collar with her, she easily just followed her around. We did put a collar on her when we brought her home. She was timid with my small children at first but with 3 or 4 bach flower remedies, she was adjusting very well with them and the other 2 dogs and cat. (she is very submissive and rolls with the other 2 dogs although she plays quite rough with our male until he has had enough and then he stops it). She was quite attached to me right away and went everywhere I did, upstairs or down, always at my feet. (still is) My husband could not get her to go with him and the other 2 dogs in the morning for a pee. She always came back and stayed waiting for me to get up. Very quiet, rarely barked- she is barking a bit now. THEN 3 weeks after we had her she and our male ran away off the acreage and onto the 4 lane highway several miles away. She was hit by a car and trapped underneath it. A police officer pulled her out from underneath the car (when her collar slipped off she did bite him). She has shown no agression to this day in any other way except for this incident. Shockingly she had minor lacerations and bruising and was taken to the local emergency clinic where they released her to us the following day. Since then she is VERY VERY VERY timid. If I yell at the kids or holler down below, she cowers or tries to run to the nearest corner/door. She is DESPERATE to be where I am (unless I am mad) and will do all she can to get to me or way from me if I am angry. Out of the blue a week ago, she chewed my sandal WHILE she was laying right beside me. Again the other day one of the kids shoes!! and she's getting into the garbage!!! (never has she done this before). She is very timid in training and even when she comes to me, although I can get her to sit, then down, more often then not, she wont stay in the sit or down she just continues to roll in submission?? I praise often and that is helping but if any of the children or I have a stick or pool noodle or even our hand up any where near her while playing, she cannot get away fast enough she is so incredibly afraid that someone will hit her. (although she was timid with the kids when we got her I would not have believed anyone had ever hit or beat her before which is the way she behaves now) Any suggestions of where to start would be greatly appreciated. I have not tried any remedies hoemopathic or bach flower at this point due to her emotional instability so as not to cloud the symptom picture. thank you so much for your time. Wendy

It is advisable to give your dog 'Bach Flower Remedies' for mental problems
You can give
1. Star of Betelhem (for shock)
2. Rock Rose (for shock)
3. Mimulus (for Fear)
4. Aspen (for fear)

Take 2 drops of each medicine in 2 teaspoon of water and give 3 times a day. It will certainly solve your problem

Shri Nawazkhan

'Bach' Flower Remedies can be given along with Homoeopathic medicine. They don't interfere.
