The ABC Homeopathy Forum

18 year old daughter with Mono

My daughter was in the ER and diagnosed with severe mono. I have read a good treatment is Belladonna which I purchased 30C pellets. How much do I administer and how many times per day. She weights 130 lbs.

Thank you for your quick response.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Without commenting on the choice of the remedy (which requires a lot more information than what you have provided), you can give the remedy in water, by dissolving 2 pellets in 250 ml spring water, and giving a teaspoon from there up-to 3 times in a day. Before every dose, you can give the 250 ml solution bottle a hard thump on your hand 4 times.

But do not do this beyond a total of 4-5 doses.

Thank you. I was told at the Vitamin shop that it was sublingual. Her symptoms are severe throat pain, fever, lower pack pain, fatigue.

Generally people take the doses sublingually. Belladonna should help her. Please continue the doses until she gets substantial relief. You may give her the remedy thrice a day.
Please report back after few days if there is no relief.
No offense intended to Sameer. He is a good classical prescriber.

Kadwa,

Thank you so much! I will continue with the belladonna. She was prescribed liquid Tylenol with Codeine. Should I continue to dispense in between the belladonna?

Her biggest complaint is her severe sore throat pain.

Dear Tamhankar,

i don't prescribe nosodes. i prefer to go with main stream remedies.

Dear smg,

You may give her remedies prescribed by her doctor in between.

Can you please give the following information in respect of your daughter.

1.Whether she prefers warm surroundings ie whether she likes to be covered or she prefers cold surroundings and open air.

2.Whether she has a mild disposition or an irritable disposition. How is her attitude towards her friends and relatives?

3.What physical problems, if any does she have.

4.At what time she feels better and at what time does she feel worse like in the morning, evening, late night etc.

5.What do you think is the causative factor for starting her problems.

6.How is her thirst for cold drinks, hot drinks and water?

7.How is the bowel movement? Normal, constipated or loose.

8.Please answer the following questions in respect of her menses:

- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last?
- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods?
- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive?
- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery?
- Do you notice any clots in the flow

Please take 5 doses of Calcarea Carb 200 at a gap of 12 hours and report back after few days. One dose means 2 pills.

Should I continue with Belladonna? If so, what should the dosage be and for how long?

Thank you,

Please don't take Belladonna now.
