Doc. David, pls suggest...about calcium intake

Respected Doc.
Every body says that drinking milk and having milk products is extremely important as they are one of the major sources of calcium.
Is that true.
Don't we have some other veg. sources.

But if some body is allergic to milk or does not like milk.
What could be the other options .

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
There are plenty of other sources of calcium. It is not necessary to drink milk to get it. Other sources are:

Leafy green vegetables like broccoli and spinach
Fruits like oranges
Beans and peas
Fish
Tofu
Sesame seeds
Molasses
Almonds


Pasteurized and homogenized milk actually contains a relatively low amount of calcium.
