Nat Phos against junior Lanzol- can I give this to my daughter?

Hi,
My daughter is 4 years old and is a fussy eater. Due to such eating habit, we have kept her on Pediasure for last 2 years. She is very active and is quite sharp in her studies.

The problem: every morning after the chores, she does not eat anything before school. She vomits anything that she eats. But if we give her food after 1 hour of her brushing her teeth, there is no such issue. This has been going on for last 1 year now. She also complains of stomach ache every morning if we make her eat early. This could be psychological - but we have ruled out that angle now as this has been persistent.

We did urine and ultrasound tests and they have been normal. We met a pediatrician and he has advised Junior Lanzol.

I saw the side effects of Junior Lanzol and hence willing to start Nat Phos. Kindly suggest if this would be a good alternative. We believe she has lactose intolerance.

Kindly advise.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The philosophy of homoeopathy is quite different to orthodox medicine. We don't give a specific medicine for a specific complaint. What we do, is examine the entire picture of a person's health, especially those things that are very individual or peculiar for the situation. This is going to give you much better results as the medicine is chosen on the basis of the whole state (holistic) and will not only permanently cure the complaint, but will actually improve your child's health against future problems. I can tell you this is true, as I have watched children in my clinic grow up remarkably well, with far fewer problems, when they are treated in accordance with proper homoeopathic guidelines.

If you want to pursue this approach, let me know. While it is generally better to do treatment face-to-face, I am happy to make remedy suggestions via the forum.

There is a really great site you can go to for some more learning about homoeopathy, with some articles written by Dr. Luc Du Schepper.

Dear Dr.,

I am willing to take this path.

I was following Homeopathy for my daughter until falling prey to a doctor and did not know who else to turn to. hence took the conventional route.

Kindly advise me how to proceed on this. I am based in India and hence I can either call to a number for advice or receive via this forum.

1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc. What happens, when it happens etc.

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.

5. Go through each symptom or problem she has, doing the same thing, even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?

7. What is her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does she have? What makes her irritable? Flesh out her personality as much as you are able (age can make this difficult)

8. What foods does she crave or hate? What drinks does she crave or hate? Is she sensitive to anything he eats or drinks? How does she feed?

9. How does the weather or season or temperature affect her?

10. How have all her milestones gone? Does she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc

11. How is she with socializing with others?

12. What is her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?

Dear ManasRm,

This nature is quiet prevalent in Children’s from this age group. NO need to worry, since tests shows no underline problems. You can go for food which your child likes the most to eat, same can be given to her. Fruits can be considered for breakfast.

Please give your child Nux Vomica.

1) Take one dose of Nux Vomica 30 in the morning and before going to bed.
3) Follow 1 for three days.

One dose means
the medicine should be in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 3 sips mineral water. Stir with spoon and sip up slowly.

Please follow homeopathy restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, and no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Do update me your progress on daily bases. Stop other medicine (if it is not an emergency).

Regards,
Nikkie.

If you wish to give his case so that a confident choice can be made just answer the questions and I will look over them as soon as possible to either make a suggestion of a remedy based on the symptoms, or to clarify with a few more questions.

Dear Dr Kempson,

My answers are below:

1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc. What happens, when it happens etc.
Ans: Stomach pain & vomitting in morning after breakfast. Problem arises only when food is taken just after morning chores. If there is a delay of an hour, no such problems seen.
When it happens, she complains of stomach pain which she describes as something like a scissor cutting her stomach. I am not sure if a 4 year old can describe it properly. But that what she says. If she continues to eat after that as she has to leave for school, she vomits the whole stuff.

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.
Ans: Reluctance to eat in the morning just after chores. Stomach pain.

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.
Ans: food

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.
Ans: Delaying the food in the morning by an hour or so causes the problem to not happen. But she also complains of stomach pain sometimes later in day, after lunch, dinner etc.

5. Go through each symptom or problem she has, doing the same thing, even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.
Ans: No other symptoms seen

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?
Ans: Started about a year back. We thought this is a psychological problem to avoid school. However we have changed that stand after repetition of the problem

7. What is her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does she have? What makes her irritable? Flesh out her personality as much as you are able (age can make this difficult)
Ans: She is a very active, sociable kid. She has fear of darkness and she needs someone besides her when she goes to sleep at night.

8. What foods does she crave or hate? What drinks does she crave or hate? Is she sensitive to anything he eats or drinks? How does she feed?
Ans: She likes 'rice' based food, fried stuff and anything which is salty. We avoid chips, oil fried curries and fizzy drinks completely. She is a very fussy eater.

9. How does the weather or season or temperature affect her?
Ans: none.

10. How have all her milestones gone? Does she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc
Ans: none

11. How is she with socializing with others?
Ans: She needs the initial 2 mins when she is shy. After that she is the leader in the relationship

12. What is her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?
Ans: Very pungent smelling bowel and urine about 6 months back. But this problem is not there anymore.

13. Where does she sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a particular colour?
Ans: Sweating is max in her head & hair. She does not sweat generally, but after little physical activity, she sweats with her full head being wet in just under a minute of activity.

14. History of illnesses in her life?
Ans: None in particular.

15. Has she reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs?
Ans: No

16. Problems with sleep? Position she sleeps in?
Ans: Sleeps well. At least 9 hours of good sleep every night.
Her bed wetting has not stopped at night. She wets at least once and at times 2-3 times. She does not realize it and sleeps on wet bed until we spot and change her clothes. We had put her on diapers for sometime even at 4 yrs of age and then withdrew it as it did not help. We took turns to get up at night to take her to bathroom. But that has not helped as well.

17. How is she with animals?
Ans: She plays well with Parrots. Nothing else observed. She does not get closer, only observes from a distance

18. How is she with adults or strangers?
Ans: she mixes with anyone and everyone, after the initial 2 mins of shyness

19. What is the family history of illness and disease?
Ans: Her mother and maternal grand-mother have gastritis problems

20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that disappeared once she was born? Any symptoms that were problematic? What kind of stresses were you under?
Ans: Healthy pregnancy.

Alright the case is a bit sparse in information, but there appears to be indications for Phosphorous here.

I would suggest starting with 200c. I will post instructions for administering the remedy as well.

INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING

Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get a bottle with a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5 parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2-4 granules or 2-4 drops of the medicine you bought from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed. The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance of your disease).

Place 1 drop into an amount of water - I may start with anything from 1/4-1 full cup (62ml-250ml) depending on the sensitivity of the patient. Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon into the mouth. Throw the rest of the cup away.

This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the bottle.

Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops, measure the water etc).

Start with 1/4 cup to dilute the drop into.
