Low Milk Supply

I am nursing a 5 month old baby boy. He gained weight very well when I was at home the first 12 weeks. He went from the 5th% in weight to the 50th%.

Now, at 5 months, he has fallen to the 10th% again. I am unable to pump a sufficient supply of milk at work.

I am tired. The baby feeds through the night.

I have an 11 year old daughter who is very difficult and causes great tension and stress in the household.

My job is busy and can be difficult, but I do pretty well with it.

I carry much responsibility at home in caring for children, schedules, etc. and my husband is very distracted with difficulty to assist.

I am overly concerned about this supply issue and it is impacting my ability to focus on my work. It definitely affects my mood.

I also have some sinus pressure and congestion today.

I went to my homeopath on Monday. She was unaware of homeopathic medicines for building supply but knew of remedies to dry supply.

I have been to an accupuncturist regularly and have been drinking the prescribed herbal teas for lactation.

My homeopath had me add coconut oil to my diet.

My diet is fairly good with whole grains including oats & flax, fruits, soups and meats.

I am overweight and have a pituitary adenoma that causes elevated prolcatin levels when I am not nursing.

I am also hypothyroid - though, with armour and synthroid, that is remedied. In fact, after 5 years on a high dose, my thyroid function has improved and I am on less medication than ever.

I have tried herbs like goat's rue, fennel, fenugreek, nettle, marshmallow and alfalfa.

On Wednesday night, my lactation consultant sent me a course of Lactuca Virosa. I am taking 4 of them 4 x/ day. After 36 hours, there is no improvement yet.

My final option is to use prescribed domperidone to boost prolactin levels.

Can you recommend how long I should give the Lactuca Virosa and anything else I might try along with it? The lactation consultant said to allow 4 daays - though most people touting success indicated success within 24-48 hours.

Many thanks for assistance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please take
1. Asafoeitida-30 6 pills 3 times a day
2. Calc phos-12x 4 pallets 3 times a day
3. Take 'Shatavari Kalpa' (Aurvedic lactation booster) 2 teaspoon in 1 cup of cow milk every day.
Above medicines will help you.

Please give a feedback after one week

Thank you!

I will order those today. I do have Calc Phos 6x on hand (as well as Ferr phos). I do not have the others. Is it reasonable to start Calc Phos 6x while I wait for the 12x? If so, do I still take 4 at a time?

I cannot find Asafoeitida-30 in your listing. Do you know where I might find it for purchase in the US?

1. you can search it on other homeopatic website
2. You can use calc phos-6x right now. But if you can get 12x search for it.
