Extremely slowly draining sinuses . . . and more!
Here are the details: In January, I had a cold. Everything cleared up pretty well after only a week or so, but a low-grade, annoying, slightly wet cough persisted. At the beginning of October I had *another* cold; it started with a sore throat and intensified coughing, continued with irritated sinuses and postnasal drip, and ended a few sneezes later after about 3 days! It was the shortest cold I'd ever had. Problem is, 2 issues remain: I continued to have the same low-grade, persistent cough I'd had since January, and my sinuses, while no longer painfully swollen, have remained at least somewhat full of really thick 'stuff' that just won't drain.Earlier this week, I started taking antimonium tartaricum, which has *really* helped the cough. I no longer feel like I'm gasping for breath all the time, I can hold notes for a longer duration (I'm a singer), and I'm not feeling like I have all this stuff in my lungs that's just too thick and too deep to cough up. Now it's a productive, wet cough, and it happens less and less frequently as I continue to take this remedy. I've also been taking (daily) 2 teaspoons elderberry syrup, 2 capsules astragalus, a cup of Breathe Easy tea, a cup of Gypsy Cold Care tea, and I add liberal amounts of honey and turmeric to each tea.
So the cough is almost gone, but it's still lingering a little. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get my sinuses to really drain. I'm completely inept with a neti pot and don't really want to continue trying that route. My mental and emotional state has been generally decent but interspersed with fits of melancholy, worry, high anxiety, and irritability. I've had trouble sleeping longer than 5 hours, and I wake up after intense nightmares that I can never remember. I live in dry, sunny Arizona, so I've been running the humidifier every night and sometimes putting Vicks under my nose, and sometimes I just take a spoonful of honey by itself. I feel dried out and tired and would really like to see this ick go away!
I'm thinking of adding sepia to my regimen but don't really know what else to do. If anyone can help, I'd really, really appreciate it! Namaste :-)
