Bitten tongue - infected?

I have another thread on here about my ongoing eczema / psoriasis, for which I have been using Sulphur and Psorinum, but I wonder if anyone has any ideas on this...

A few days ago I bit my tongue while eating breakfast. it was really painful and bled for about an hour, quite profusely. It is on the upper surface and looks like a big flap that has opened up. I left it alone thinking it would heal by itself, but now I am not so sure.

The flap itself has gone a very pale pink and lost the roughness of the rest of my tongue. The cut edges o the flap have gone bright red and don't seem to be joining with the hole that it left.

The flap is now slightly swollen and has become more painful when touched/eating.

It may be that this is the normal healing process, but I would be grateful for any helpful comments. I don't really want to take anything that might mess my treatment up so far.

Any ideas or do you think it will just sort itself out?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I'm not a doctor, but I think you'll need to keep a very close eye on it for the next 1 or 2 days. If it gets worse, or stays the same, see a physician.

The mouth, being both warm and wet, can be a breeding ground for bacteria. No matter what remedies you choose to take, please be careful.

I wish you the very best, and I hope that heals up very quickly! Sounds painful... :-(

make a solution with Calendula tincture, and 'gargle' with it freqently. (Actually, just hold in the mouth as long as you can. You can also mix it in pure fresh butter and apply it to the injured part.
Also take Arnica 200, thrice a day.
If no improvement in 3 or 4 days, please do as Orume says and get it checked out.
