3 yr olf suffering from asthma

my 3 yr old son has been suffering from asthma since Oct 04. Since then he has had 6 asthma attacks, triggered by cold and flu. His homeopathic doctor has prescribed him Calc Carb 200 2 times a day and Ars Alb 200 to be used when an attack is coming.

I have been giving him these for last 3 months. Arsenic helps him when his wheezing is mild and has not prevented big attacks. He was put on Albuterol and FLovent 4 weeks ago as his asthma attack was very bad.

Personality: 1. Had jaundice for 2 months after birth and eczema since then. Eczema worsens with weather change and winters due to heating in the house.
2. He is very thin, pale, suseptible to frequent cold and cough. Is very sensitive to cold air, starts to cough immediately when exposed to cold air.
3. fine motor skills not as developed as normal in a 3 yr old. But started walking at 10.5 months of age
4. Vegetarian diet, likes yogurt. doesn't like eggs and cold things. also a fussy eater
5. picks up things fast, has good memory but not very social.

I am also giivng him Hyland's Bio Plasma 2 times a day as supplement. I am concerned that his immune sysytem doesnot seem to improve even after giving him Calc Carb 200 for last 3 months. he is going to start Preschool end of August and I am worried that every cold that he gets from other kids will turn into an asthma attack. His regular doctor asks us to give him Flovent for 3-4 weeks as preventive medicine, but i hesitate.
Can someone suggest what I need to do to boost him immune system?

Thanks,

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I am in the same situation.... 3 year old son with eczema, allergies, and allergic/viral asthma. He takes arsenicum album 30c daily 1x daily (up to 3x daily if needed). He was given two doses of Silicea 200 C three months apart as deemed to be his constitutional remedy.

He is doing much better. He has been off all steroids and inhalers for 6 months. He has a compromised immune system and makes no IgA white blood cells. They are doing a bunch of tests to rule out pediatric lupus and SCID. I am thinking of giving him echinacea since this is a real immune booster and improves white blood cell count. I am talking about echinacea homeopathically.

Wait for Sabra and Passkey and Erika to come back from vacation as they are very knowledgeable. A lot of the people belonging to this forum are away... Write back in a few weeks! They will help you.

Best of Luck,

Jenn

I have used Nat Sulph 6c in the Split wet dose method which was used by Dr Luc de Schepper to treat patients with chronic Asthma. The method used is described below:

Get a 500ml bottle of spring water
Pour out 100ml from the bottle.
Put in 4 pellets Nat Sulph 6c into the bottle.
Bang the bottle hard on your palm or a cushion and watch for the water to fizzle like it does when you open a bottle of soda. This is called succussing and must be done at least 4 times before every dose. This raises the potency of the remedy slightly and makes it more effective in helping to cure the ailment.
Take 1 teaspoon of the potentized water from the bottle and put it into half a cup of water and stir it.
Sip 1 teaspoonful of the water from the half cup every other day. Do not reuse the water in the cup.
Store the bottle in the fridge and ensure that it is succussed before every dose.

Please report progress in a week if you decide to use this therapy.

I would like to add that I was at first wondering how any remedy when diluted to the proportions indicated above can possibly work. I can assure you however that in all 8 cases that I treated of Asthma under Dr Luc's guidance, they were all relieved. Some of the patients were completely cured but some who were chronic cases have to take the remedy regularly. One case has to take it on a daily basis.

Stop all other medication if you decide to use Nat Sulph 6c and use Ars Alb 200c only on a SOS basis if the boy cannot breathe. I would prefer that you do not use it as you (jentoun) are doing as there is a possibility of other problems resulting from its daily use.

Thanks Joe for your reply. My question is that right now my son is free of asthma symptoms. Though he starts to cough in cold air (it cools down considerably in evenings and gets windy). Should I start Nat sulph even when there is no symptom? Also, I am giving him Calc Carb 200 2 times a day. Should I discontinue that?
His homeopath has recommended Bacillinum 200 2 times on Sat only to protect him from cold and relieve his cough but I have noticed that it agravates his cough. Is this because Bacillinum is reacting w/ Calc Carb?
Is there anything you would recommend for improving his immune symptom? He tends to catch cold everytime someone sneezes. Also, his cough never seems to go away.

I was concerned to note that you are using Bacillinum 200 twice daily as recommended by your homeopath to relieve your son's cough, which you also state is aggravated by it.

Please stop taking it immediately as this is a nosode and needs to be used with some care and definitely not twice in one day.

I have had outstanding results in the treatment of Asthma with Nat Sulph 6c in adults and I feel confident that the same method indicated in my last post would also have the same result with children. Please note that this is the treatment that was given by a world renowned Homeopath Dr Luc de Schepper who was in Sri Lanka a few months ago. I am only following exactly the therapy he used which has resulted in the outstanding results that I have been able to obtain from the many other asthmatics that have contacted me for treatment which I give free of charge.

Nat Sulph 6c is best used when your son is not having any asthmatic symptoms. If you decide to use this therapy, you must stop giving him all other remedies.

Please note that the dose is 1 teaspoonful taken every other day precisely in the manner that was described in my last post.

Bacillinum can aggravate asthma attacks. And, as Joe says, it should not be repeated,- generally a repeat dose is given only if necessary, and after a gap of at least a couple of weeks. If you have already used it, please do not use again for now.

Agree , stop all remdies except the Nat Sul as per Joe's instructions. This remedy has been used in many differing allergic cases.

Thanks everyone for replying to my questions. I could not start Nat Sulph for my son as he came down with a very case of flu. His temprature shot up to 101.5 in the morning without any symptom of cold, cough, runny nose etc. This was totaaly out od the blue. And for next 4 days, tempature rose to 103 every 6-7 hrs. Luckily this time there was no wheezing. His doctor listened to his chest and said that lungs, nose and thoat are clear. Because of high fever, I had to give Advil every 7 hrs. I tried Belladona 30C but didn't help.
Since today afternoon his fever is gone but his energy levels are very low. He is very irriatable, no appetite/fussy and is jsut lying down.

Please can some one suggest what I should give him now to boost this energy and appetite. I will hold off Nat Sulph till he is his self again.

Thanks,

jedimom

It is difficult for me to advise you as to what remedy he should now take to overcome his present feeling of being low after the flu.

He will have to fight it on his own and I hope that the Nat Sulph can help him after he recovers and and after you start him on it and this perhaps can help to build up his resistance to other ailments which he is contacting due to his handicap with the Asthma.

Hi,

My son's flu has ended but a lingering dry cough remained uptill 2 days ago. Then it changed into a mild rattling cough and today morning, it became severe and he had an asthma attack. I gave him arsenic200 to control it but rattling cough continued. I could hear wheezing (slight) as well. I had to give him Albuterol and flovent to relieve him of his symptoms.
Then in 2 hrs time, he developed sihns of cold: running nose with clear fuid, some sneeezing ussually at the end of a cough bout. I can hear rattling in the chest but cough does not produce any mucus. Overall he is feeling tired and is more clingy than normal. I checked his temperature and it was slightly elevated (99)

I have started him on ANTIM TART 20C and it has reduced the rattling somewhat but the cough is still very frequent, hacking and loud.

Can someone knowledgeable suggest what he should be given.

Thanks,

a very worried jedimom

My son's coughing is frequent and right after his lunch, he vomitted. Lots of mucous came out which was frothy and light. His nasal discharge is also clear fluid and increases when he sneezes.

Right now coughing is bothering him a lot. Again, its not rattling but loud hacking kind. Albuterol (second dose for the day) did not help reduce coughing. In previous episodes of asthma, Albuterol has provided immediate relief.

Can anybody help? My son is very weak from flu (last week) and another one 3 weeks ago. His immune system is very fragile and tends to catch cold/flu very frequently.

My heart goes out to you and I can see how you are suffering together with your son who has again got a cold within a few days after he finished with his last and as a result is again having his bouts of Asthma.

I can only suggest that you use the Nat Sulph 6c in the manner that I have indicated as it should help with his Asthma. Do not use the Bacillinum. You can help his general condition by having him nebulized and I would suggest that you buy a nubulizer that you can use at home and use it with only the steam, without any drugs. You may have to get instructions on how to use it from a qualified person in the hospital.

I believe that we have to break the cycle where he gets a cold which is followed by the Asthma to achieve any success in his treatment.

Thanks Joe for replying to my plea of help. I took my son to the doctor and his lungs are fine but he is pulling his abdominal muscles to breathe. The doctor recommended that I should give him Albuterol(bronco dialator) and Fovent (inhaled steroid) 2 times a day as long as cough continues.

Right now I am giving him Five phos and Kali Mur to keep coughing to a minimum. I also plan to give him Albuterol regimen for another day.

In your opinion, will Nat Sulph aggravate the symptoms first and then rectify the problem? At this point he is very fragile and another asthma attack will be horrible for him. Please advice.

Thanks & Regards,

Jedimom

Nat Sulph 6c in taken in the Split Dose that I indicated cannot ever cause any aggravation. I note that you are also giving him Five Phos and Kali Mur to keep his coughing down. If you are sure that they are helping you may continue but I do not think that the Kali Mur which is Sodium Chloride or common salt can help his coughing. It will only help his mind if he is highly strung and worries a lot. I did not prescribe these remedies to you.

Ask your doctor's advice about a nebulizer which you can use at home without any drugs added with only the steam as this will help him to cough up the phlegm.

You may also consider using physiotherapy by tapping his chest with his head at a lower level to promote the lungs to bring up the phlegm in his lungs. You will have to get instructions on how to do this simple therapy which will bring out a lot of phlegm but it is best demonstrated to you and you can then take over twice daily.

Where do you live ?

Joe De Livera last decade
Joe, you must've got mixed up - Kali Mur is not Sodium Chloride- it's Potassium Chl. Though I agree - don't see that Kali Mur will help coughing - now Kali Phos might.

Minsa last decade
My apologies for the mix up. I was thinking of Nat Mur which is Sodium Chloride and is common salt.

Thanksgiving day, my 3 year old daughter had what we soon found out was an Asthma attack. She did NOT have asthma prior to this incident/our knowledge. It was VERY frightening, and we were put on a close health watch for the next 24 hours, scaring us to call 911, if her symptoms increase. It could also ( so the Er says ) be a Viral infecetion, and if thats the case, what next? My husband and I have no idea what we are dealing with here, and are quite shaken. We were given Albuterol with a child inhaler . Now, if it IS a viral infection of some sorts, will she be taken off the Abuterol at some point? Or in most likely case of events, will she have asthma for life now, and need this all the time/every day ? I am very confused on the forums use of terminology, so please bare with me.

I note from your post that you are very anxious about your 3 year old daughter's Asthma but that you are not quite sure that the attack was Asthma. If it is viral in origin, I cannot help you and it will most likely settle down on its own.

If however it is Asthma you can follow the directions that I have given below which have invariably helped patients who have used this therapy.

Nat Sulph 6c is the remedy and it should be used daily in the precise manner that I have indicated below:

Get a 500ml bottle of spring water
Pour out 100ml from the bottle.
Put in 4 pellets Nat Sulph 6c into the bottle.
Bang the bottle hard on your palm or a cushion and watch for the water to fizzle like it does when you open a bottle of soda. This is called succussing and must be done at least 4 times before every dose. This raises the potency of the remedy slightly and makes it more effective in helping to cure the ailment.
Take 1 teaspoon of the potentized water from the bottle and put it into half a cup of water and stir it.
Sip 1 teaspoonful of the water from the half cup once every day. Do not reuse the water in the cup.
Store the bottle in the fridge and ensure that it is succussed before every dose.

This daily dose should stabilize her in about a week when you should find that her Asthma does not bother her anymore.

It will then be time to give her the remedy every other day for sometime in the future and she should get over her Asthma permanently as have many of the patients whom I have treated.

In the event of a severe attack like you have just witnessed you can use Ars Alb 200 dose 3 globules sublingually (under the tongue) and the attack should abate in under 20 minutes.
