Arnica for slipped disk

Would arnica work for helping ease a slipped disk in the lower back? What doses would be taken and are there any other homeopathics for this?
My dad is 65 and has two slipped disks in his lower back, causing extreme pain and stiffness though butt and legs. He stands on his feet all day at work, which we know caused this. He's been getting chiro. adjustments for years and she suggested possibly having laser surgery to repair them. I was hoping to spare him from that or at least ease the pain until further methods need to be taken. Thanks!

Hi-I have 3 relatives with the slipped
disks- like L3 L 4 etc. I have no
info on the homeo remedy- but
one guy got the operation and he is comfortable but he cannot bend really at all. The other one did chiro and acupuncture and started a faithful
every day stretching out of bed in am
for an hour etc and he hardly has
any pain anymore and can do most things.
the third one did not want an operation,
acupuncture did not do much ,
and chiro did not do much. Finally
what really worked is Shiatsu massage- Huge relief and his legs
butt etc are much better and that was the key.( he would never do the
regular stretching that the second one did)
