2 month old resists sleep
we have a two month old boy who just refuses to go to sleep without a huge fight during the day.He is ok during, (dark), hours of night. He is breast feeding only, on demand, pretty regularily at 3am, 6am, 9am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm then between 10pm and 1am, etc.
HGe does not appear physically uncomfortable, it seems as if he is scared of falling asleep. His eyes desperately seek out sunlit area s of he room and he cries and cries until we all exhausted. This can go on for anything from 10min to 1hour until he drops off, sometimes wakinhg up after 10mins again to start all over.
He is extremely alert after rest, animated and cooing and smiling. We are very watchfull of his state of overstimulation, but within two minutes he can go from calm-alert state to full blown angry screaming. Shushing, (loudly), helps as dloes swaddling, and he will only calm with fairly intense rocking sometimes reducing us all to sweaty tears. He was born naturally, 3 days after term, small at 2.5kgs, but doubled in weight within 7 weeks. Bit of difficulty winding him in first few weeks and he had some very uncomfortable nights doubled over from discomfort. He is on a simethicone based drops colic mix at moment whch helps the winding.
Mom reduced her 1 cup of regular coffee to one cup of decaf per day, she has 1/4 glass of wine some nights and otherwise eats extremely healthily and also supliments with omega 3, general lactation multi vits, and lecithin to manage tendancy to blocked milk ducts. Mom hydrates well with water-juice-electrolite mix every day.
He seems worse on hot days and is a 'hot' baby.
Wew are desperate to find a way to get him slipping into sleep calmly, as frustsration is creating a tense relationship with the poor little thing which cannot be good long term.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him one pill of calc carb 200 with mother's milk in the morning and evening for 3 days and report back after 5 days.

Hi Kadwa,
We took long to report back to the forum but the results have been so pleasing that it´s the least we could do.....!
We've had Oscar on Heel´s Virbucol suppositories for 12 days and started experiencing improvement after the 5th - 6th day. Baby was basically much calmer and stopped 'fighting' sleep.
Decided to drop treatment in order to truly establish cause and effect. Unsettleness came back and after 5 days of crying, we started giving him 2 drops of calc cabr 200. He's calm again and falls asleep with little difficulty.
How long should we continue the treatment?
Thank you for the advice and feedback!

There is no need to give calc carb 200 if he is doing well. You should give the remedy if he has a relapse in his symptoms. Generally babies overcome all these problems after 5 months of their age.
