Persistent burning in urethra following UTI

Hi. New to homeopathy. I am 48 female. Suffered a sudden UTI one month ago. Antibiotics helped at first but burning in urethra persists. Some bladder urgency too. I have not had a UTI for at least 9 years since I was last pregnant so this took me by surprise. It was very painful very quickly with pus and blood. Required emergency room visit for pain. Am generally in good health. Can you help?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I went ahead and filled out the questionnaire in hopes that one of the kind doctors here could make a recommendation.

1. Mental State of the patient:Generally optimistic bu very distressed and focused on current problem.
2. Physical Ailments: Right now: burning in urethra whether or not urnating. Worse when sitting. Vagina feels swollen but appears norma and have treated twice for candida in past month. Last urine test was clear--no bacteria but painful urethra and frequent urination persist. Besides this problem, persistent shoulder pain. Sometimes pain in hip. Addressed with massage. MRI scans show possible MS although I have had no symptoms or problems for 25 years.
3. The likely cause for above problems: UTI one month ago initiated this event. Had no problems before this.
4. The modalities like whether the patient feels well or worse in hot weather, cold weather etc., he is relieved by / worsenened by hot applications, cold applications etc.:
I get cold very easily.

Patient ID: Sex: Age:
Female Caucasian Age 48

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering? Burning and sometime pricking feeling in the urethra. Constant whether urinating or not. Urination makes burning in vaginal area worse.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
I am obsessed with feeling normal right now. Can't concentrate on work. Am depressed and anxious and desperate for relief.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Like the whole ureter and vagina are on fire.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? UTI at the first of the year. Came on suddenly but likely I didn't really notice the symptoms at first because it has been so long since I've had this! It came on about 10 days after last having sex with my husband after which I fell asleep and did not get up to pee which is what I have habitually done after sex for years!

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Evening. But it is early morning now and am feeling it despite pain meds and pyridium.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?Sitting for long period makes me feel like vaginal tissues are pushing into bladder. Feel a little better up and moving around.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? I am stressed about job and considering leaving. Have had heartburn on and off for about a month.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
Since this is a new situation and only had for one month can't say. Generally I prefer warm slightly moist weather

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc. I am generally relaxed and calm under pressure--except when it's my own problem. Outgoing. Friendly. Curious. But like my solitude and can be lazy sometimes. Can be anxious about silly things sometimes.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? Anxious.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Yes..physical contact is best.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Very smell sensitive. But noise, light, etc not a problem.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? I well up with tears easily.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? In love with my husband and children. Family is central to my life. Worried about my husband's stress levels and tend to keep my own problems to myself but discomfort leaks out. Am very worried that this condition will affect our sex life (already has) and then our relationship.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? Afraid of losing a child or spouse. Repeatedly dream about job stress lately.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? I crave chocolate. Eat almost every day. Try to eat balanced meals but often am carb heavy. I dislike pickled things.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? Tend to be thirsty. I drink a lot of water normally though.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Hunger is normal. A little less at the moment.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? Raw onion. Pizza gives me heartburn. Concentrated carbs like Pancakes with syrup can cause huge blood sugar swing so I generally avoid or eat small portion with lots of protein.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Sweat normal. When I exercise however, my pants are usually wet through.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Fine as long as I keep balanced meals. Constipation from time to time with sticky stools.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? side sleeper

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? Low libido because always so tired but sexually satisfied when need arises.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all? I'm pretty normal but may tend to notice things others ignore.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? Since Jan 1. Have taken Bactrim and Augmentin. Dr. started me on Vesicare this weekend. Pyrdium (over the counter) helps with urgency. Take Augmentin (for stroke caused by dissected carotid 3 years ago...no disabilities), wellbutrin for mild depression, zocor for cholesterol.

22. What major diseases are running in your family? High blood pressure in father (but mine is very low...95 over 60 is normal for me). Mother has epilepsy. Some diabetes in more distant relatives.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance: Medium meso/endo build. 5'7' 159. Brown hair (lots of gray), light skin tone but don't usually burn. green eyes.

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

Please answer the following questions:
(Please give details of your past menstruation if you have attained menopause.)
- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? Regular
How long do they last? 4 days

- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods? repetitive thoughts, irritability and cry easily about 3 days before. One day of cramps. After, feel fine.
- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive? Starts heavy then quickly goes to normal then nothing.
- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery? Brown becoming bright red then brown again
- Do you notice any clots in the flow? Yes. Very typical.

Thanks for any quidance you can provide. This condition is torturing me. I'm a pretty healthy person and haven't even had a cold in years.
