Dry and Allergitic Cough in 4 years Boy
Dear Dr. Maheeru,Good Evening.
Whenever we were in need of your advice, you helped and prescribed medicines to heal us.
Now as i am in need of your valuable advice and suggestions for my son who is 4 years old and suffering from cough and respiratory related ailments,
i posted this thread for your kind consideration.
I have a son who is 4 years old , lean in personality, red and white in colour, 10 kilograms in weight has the problem of dry cough since 1 and half year.
In the beginning i.e., 1 1/2 years ago whenever my son was exposed to cool air, cool drinks, taken ice creams he sufferred from cold and productive cough.
We were using either homeo medicines or allopathic to cure him. He was also responding fast and cured.
Gradually it has become regular ill health for him. In the beginning the cough and running nose was lasting for two or three days. Gradually the duration of his illness has increased.
We used several anti biotics and tonics on doctor's prescription. Recently means for 2 to 3 months he has been suffering from dry cough. It is started and will start when he is exposed to dust, cool air, cool drinks, ice creams, chocolates etc.,
It starts with DRY cough. later after 2 or three days running nose starts. Cough becomes aggravtes and he suffers a lot. He suffers as the parts of his stomach will come out during the cough. But no phlegm comes out.
The cough seems as there is some phlegmatic obstruction in his lungs. There is no particular time frame for his cough means through out the day it will be there. Apart from Allopathic Medicines we used Homeo Medicines also on our Homeopath's advice.
They are: BAcillinum 200 single dose once in a week,followed by Hepar Sulph 30 thrice a day . But no improvement is seen.
I tried Ipecac 30, Antimtart 30 also which resulted no improvement. I even tried ALFACOFF and TUSSIKIND also which gave temporaray relief.
At present we are using Allopathic Inhalers for him namely LEVOLIN and BEUDOCART on children's specialist advice.
The specialists told that it is because of Allergy and will be controlled gradually in 4 or 5 years of period by the child gets 10 years.
At present my son suffers atleast 3 to 4 times a day and his cough will be rattling and as there is some phlegm in his lungs with constriction feeling.
He is a poor eater.
I could describe the symptoms in brief as follows.
Rattling Cough
Cough Through out the day.
Forcible Cough on becoming cold
Oppressed Chest Feeling
Respirayory Allergies
Some times cough makes him Breatheless
Cough becomes worse when ice water, ice creams taken.
Dear doctor , I could provide some more information if you require.
Kindly go through the case and suggest a suitable remedy.

Dear Dr. I had mentioned all the symptoms.
He likes sugar related products very much like chocolates, kheer, cool drinks etc.
He likes to watch ads in television and tries to learn as they are telecasted. In this process he thinks and repeats the lines himself and gets fever by trying to remember the sequence of words and songs.
He likes playing with and repairing electronic gadgets like mobiles, remote control etc.
Never sleeps during the day time.
Very curious.
He doesnt have any particular fears.

The cough seems suppressed as the temperature crossed 40 C here. My son is not suffering as much as he was.

Dear doctor,
I have not written about this post since a long time as i was unable to get a clear picture about the problem.
Now my boy is of 5 years age.
The children specialist has confirmed it as ASTHMA in CHILDREN.
The main symptoms are:
on the 1st day it starts with dry cough twice or thrice.
on the 2nd day it rapidly grows to several times and by the night it becomes productive.
from the third day onwards he feels difficulty to breath, cant spit out the sputum and the he suffers as his parts of the stomach will come out during the cough.
he will definitely vomits the undigested food in the middle of the night at some point of time.
Frankly speaking homeopathic medicines like Bacillinum 200 one dose per week and hep sulph 30c thrice a week are not working.
Children Specialist has suggested Levolin Inhaler 1 puf thrice a day and and Budecart Inhaler 1 puf twice a day and some other tonics also. They will suppress the cough in 15 days and after another fifteen days he is attacked by the cough. The same cycle repeats every month or in 45 days duration.

why didn't you follow up in time?
Stop Bacill. and Hep. sulph.
When the next episode happens, give him Ipecac 30c one pill, three times a day for three days and report.
