Asthma and Wheezing

I need help for my 10 year old daughter. We are living in USA. This year we've frequent weather changes. Usually she has Rhinitis allergy, sinusitis, Upper Respiratory infections. 2010 She had adenoidectomy surgery. 2011 from october she sicks so much. She is very sensitive to cold weather. She has lot of problem in the nose. red, swollen, nasal congestion, nose blocking, yellowish thick discharge from the nose, head ache because of sinus, All these symptoms effect to her ear. fluid is going into her ears, ear pain. Last month Feb ending she had attacked with asthma and wheezing. At that time I used steroid, singulair, flovent, albuterol. Again she got it now. But I don't want to use steroids. No mucous, when she coughs, no night time cough. She is not feeling any breathing problem. whitish thick discharge from the nose. I gave Ant. Tart 200. Now 70% cough has gone. But when she gets cough, I'm feeling little bit mucous sound hearing from her chest. It's not cleared 100%. Please can anyone tell a remedy.

Thanks,

Sailu

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I will post an intake form so that more valuable information can be gathered.

Be aware that Asthma can be tricky to treat, especially if suppressive drugs are being used to control it.

When describing the Asthma, you must ask her to describe it. Don't just give your observation of it.

1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape, symptoms, behaviour etc. What happens, when it happens etc.

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.

5. Go through each symptom or problem he/she has, doing the same thing (answering questions 1-4), even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?

7. What is his/her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does he/she have? What makes him/her irritable? Flesh out his/her personality.

8. What foods does he/she crave or hate? What drinks does he/she crave or hate? Is he/she sensitive to anything he/she eats or drinks?

9. How does the weather or season affect him/her?

10. How have all his/her milestones gone? Does he/she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc

11. How is he/she with socializing with others?

12. What is his/her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?

13. Where does he/she sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a particular colour?

14. History of illnesses in his/her life?

15. Has he/she reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs?

16. Problems with sleep? Position he/she sleeps in? Nightmares or any dreams he/she talks about?

17. How is he/she with animals?

18. How is he/she with adults or strangers?

19. What is the family history of illness and disease?

20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that disappeared once he/she was born?

Feb 10th, 2012 - We went to Hawii trip. The weather was good. we went to volcano beach. There the sand was black. One day she went to snorkling in that beach 10 feet deep. We came back on Feb 16th from the trip to Dallas. 18th was raining. cough started from Monday. I took her to the doc on Wed, She told that she has pharygitis. No need antibiotic. Just use allery medicine and inhaler albuterol. I tried some homeopathy med belladona or something. Not remembered exactly. After one week I took her to the wellchild appointment. At that time she told Asthma and wheezing. We used steroid, singilair, flovent. We did allergy test about tree, grass, weed pollen. But those are very, very mild. It started again in Apr 10th. Initially it starts like dry cough, ten after 4 or 5 days feeling little bit congestion in the chest. No mucos, no chest pain, nothing. Just cough. No family history.

Usually she has rhinitic allergy, sinusitis, Upper respiratory Infection. Most of the times she has rhinitic allergy. She got cold with yellowish thick discharge from the nose. nasal congestion, nose blocking, once in a year gets strep. last year in summer, we've joined her in swimming. She got sinus infection. If we put nose cap, then she was ok. Without nose cap, she was getting nasal congestion and sinus infection. My doubt is she went to snorkling in the volcano ocean water 10 feet deep. because this she did get any allergy problem. I never heard this kind of cough. But no pain in chest, nothing.

Wheezing has gone. But now started breathing problem. When they test it it shows 60% only. The doctor told it should be 75%. Not a lot of cough. please tell her remedy for that problem.
