uti - nox vomica?

Hello,

I am a 43 yo female. About 2 years ago I had a chronic UTI that was very stubborn. I went through 5 courses of different antibiotics with no luck. I wanted to try homeopathy as I have very little faith in medicine in general. I self-prescribed Nox Vomica, took two 200 pellets and was better the very next day. The UTI has returned. I went to my medical doctor, and she prescribed Cipro. I took the 3-day course, but woke up this morning feeling no better. So, I again took 2 pellets of the 200 Nox Vomica. I will see tomorrow how I am feeling.

I know it is not wise to self diagnose, but I don't know of any local homeopaths that I can go to. Though I am female, I seem to fit the profile for Nox Vomica to very well. There are a few differences but for the most part it fits my character and personality. I am recently under a lot of stress as I am moving to a different state for work. This is requiring me to leave behind my life partner and pets for a couple of years while I am at this job. I am certain it is this stress leading to the recurrence of the UTI.

In this situation, does it seem wise to use the Nox Vomica when it worked so well for me the last time? Or does the change in circumstances warrant trying a different direction? I am happy to answer any questions and appreciate all help. I read this forum frequently and think it is a tremendous resource.

Thank you!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Stress does not give you a UTI infection.
usually it is e coli and mistake in
hygiene and or the use of lubes in
sex.

If you drink enough water and use cranberry juice daily ( even in powder
pills they act as a preventative but don't
do much once you get it.

First- why are you getting the UTI in
the first place.

Second- if it is coming back what does
your urine culture show?

Third, treating the uti in homeopathy
can be difficult as I have had difficulty
and so have others and then went
to antibiotics so that it was not going
into the kidneys and not fool with
it anymore. In other words get it
fixed and then get your
A. constitutional remedy to boost your
life force back up which would help
with ANY infection
B. find out what you are doing to
get the infection and take care of that.
C. Find out what is going on in your
urine culture etc that is showing up-
and I would do the homeopathy AFTER
this is figured out . I believe in homeopathy but I am not willing to
keep trying remedies that are not
killing off the bacteria bc I have not
found the 'right' one and meanwhile
the bacteria are still growing and causing an even bigger mess.

You don't have to get UTI's if you
are careful.
