Maheeru-Need hep for breastfeeding!

is there homeopathic remedy to help my baby nurse better? she only likes to nurse when the milk flow is fast. When it slows down or slow, she doesn't want to nurse anymore, so I have to do breast compression to keep the milk coming out faster to keep her nursing for longer. I think that her suck is not weak or anything, I think she is just doesn't wanna work for the milk.

So it is also causing her to drink the foremilk, which is skim milk and not much of the hindmilk, for which she has to work harder.

So sometimes she has green stool because of that and foamy stool, and more gas.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Thanks for youur response, but I have enough milk, in fact she is gaining more than expected. I just have to do more than she does while I breast feed her.

I wanted help not for my milk supply, but for her to nurse better!

Hello Rose

How's your baby responding to staphysagria?

Give more details about the baby, yourself(as a breastfeeding mother your state is also relevant to your baby's problems), the issues you faced in pregnancy etc.

Describe the problems of the baby in detail.

What is staphysagria?

Basically, baby likes to nurse when milk flow is fast. When it slows down, the baby falls asleep or just stays at the breast without sucking. If at that point I switch breasts, she will nurse again because the milk flow is fast at first.

Right now I have enough milk for her to play around like that, but it wont last long, because since she is not removing all the milk, I will begin loosing my milk, and it wont be coming out that fast and she wont be getting enough milk. I had that problem with my previous baby.

So I need homeopathy that could help her to continue nursing/sucking even when milk is slow.

Sometimes she has a hard time having a bowel movement, even though it's not hard, it's normal stool for newborn, she just hasn't learned how to do it yet. So she will fuss for a while until she can have a bowel movement. I believe that it's accompanied by painful gas. But she only has that a couple times a day/night, the rest of her BM's seem to be fine.

She spits up sometimes, usually when she is asleep, even though I always try to burp her.

At around 7pm-10pm she has a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. Also in the morning around 8 am sometimes sooner, she will be having that problem with having a hard time with her BM's and being gassy and fussing in her sleep, I try nursing her then and she is very wigly at that time for about 2 hours.

She seems to be pretty easy to soothe.

I'm fine. Obviously it's stressful with a newborn and I also have other kids on top of that. But it's not too bad. My pregnancy was very healthy and good. My delivery was somewhat difficult not for what I was hopping for and I lost lot's of blood, but I am feeling pretty good now. I wasn't depressed or anything. I have a hard time falling asleep at night and falling asleep for naps, I think it's because I just get overtired.

Is this enough info, or do you need more?

oh, sorry, I know what staphysagria is. I wanna give it to her today. I am just worried that may be she needs another remedy, since her night sleep has improved?

rosendinirish last decade
Ok Rose.

In that case please take a dose(one pill or drop or pellet) of sulphur 200c yourself(Often treating breastfeeding mothers is the best way to treat infants). Let us see how it goes. Report changes after a week.

maheeru last decade
Thank you for your advise. I have ordered the Sulphur 200c.
I hope it will work fast because I am afraid to loose my milk since baby doesn't wanna nurse when milk slows down.

Do you know if there are any remedies for increasing fat content in breastmilk?

rosendinirish last decade
Do not be bothered if you would lose milk. We have remedies for that. We should not be thinking to increase or decrease a particular component of milk, rather our objective would be to make milk nutritious(in a balanced manner) and desirable for the infant.

Also please order Calcarea 200c. We would require this later.

Thanks for your response. Can I please ask what for is the Calcarea 200c? Is it for my breast milk or is it for baby's nursing problems?

rosendinirish last decade
For both. It's a good complementary remedy after sulphur and will deal with the remnant issues.

maheeru last decade
Hi, I was trying to order Calcarea 200c and it looks like it's supposed to be a 2 word remedy. I found few with the first word being Calcarea and second word being carbonica or phosphorica, etc.., which one should I order? Thanks.

rosendinirish last decade
It's Calcarea Carb that is to be procured.

If you are the same person who posted this thread:

I would like to advice you to stay with one approach and do not mix remedies. When you take sulphur now, do not give anything else(homeopathic remedy) to your baby or consume yourself----only then we'll be able to analyse the results better.

ok, thanks for that. So how much time do I give in between remedies?

I just received the Sulfur remedy for myself. I'll take it today.

Varum from my other question has suggested some remedies for baby's gas. So how long do I wait to give her the gas remedies after I take the Sulfur myself?

rosendinirish last decade
That's not possible. I have a different roadmap and varun will have a different one. Please stay with one approach.

maheeru last decade
well, aren't we treating two different things?

Varum is treating the baby's gas and you are treating my breastfeeding difficulties.

I received the second Calcarea Carb 200c remedy. When Do I take it? I took Sulfur 3 days ago.

Hi Rose

Everything is related. Homeopathy is not mincemeat type of work. Holistically your system correction must correct your baby's system.

Repeat another dose of sulphur 200c after a week. Please do not take any other remedy in the mean time or give anything to your baby. When you report changes, it's not only about you, it's also about your baby. So do include the changes in your baby.

Follow my recommendation when you are clearly committed to my recommendation and are not inclined to mix more things. Otherwise it's a waste of time for me. Please also be frank about your choice/decision.

Hi aagaaain. so i will take a second dose of sulfur today.. what do i do after that? what changes am i supposed to see after taking this remedy? how does it work to help with breastfeeding? ive been feeling that my milk is decreasing because of baby's bad nursing. i am worried to loose it. she almost always nurses on one side because i have less milk and slower flow on the other. i think i need to add pumping to breastfeeding. i also see that she used to gain weight more before than now. she used to gain 1 ounce a day and now its .5 ounce a day.

rosendinirish last decade
Weight gain fluctuation is not a big deal.

You will observe changes any in your system and your baby's system. Some areas to look for: Energy, sleep, emotional plane and other specifics that you want to improve.

Some specifics of baby: Constipation, gas, digestion, sleep.

-----

You need to take Alfalfa Mother tincture 10 drops in 50ml water three times a day for 3 to 4 weeks. This will help increase the quantity and quality of the milk. You will skip on those days when you take sulphur.

-----
A week later, please take another dose of Sulphur 200c.

maheeru last decade
Thanks.

I will be taking the Sulphur again for the third time.

I don't think that I've seen many changes at all. :( any ideas to why?

My baby has sour smelling, runny stool and painful gas. Is it because of lactose intolerance or am I eating something? I don't eat dairy. Her digestive system is just not working good for some reason.

Do you think we should do a re-hydration therapy on her? ( I have it because I bought it per Varun's suggestion, but I haven't used it because you said not to mix remedies. I also have china and carb veg 30c that varun prescribed for her.) Let me know what I am to do next. Thanks.

rosendinirish last decade
You can do ORS oral rehydration if there's a loss of fluids due to vomiting or diarrhea.

Have you started on Alfalfa? How's the milk availability?

Since when, does she have runny stools? What is the colour and consistency of the stool?

maheeru last decade
I haven't recieved the alfa alfa, but I used to drink a nursing tea containing alfa alfa, but I guess the tea isn't as strong as the tincture.

Her stool were always smelly, but I think they are more smelly now, or may be because she is able to pass bigger amounts of stool at once, which smells more. The color is yellow, I told Varum that she had mucus in her stool and he said that it wasn't mucous, and that it was frothy with undigested food. I agree. Her stool was always runny though. I just didn't know how runny it was until I saw it today, while I was changing her diaper and lifted her legs up, she had a bowel movement and it was very runny! Usually the diaper absorbs the moisture, so I never knew that it was so runny. But she is gaining weight.

My milk supply seems to be doing ok, I just have to nurse her often to keep up.

How do I do the rehydration? I never done it before. I don't give her bottles either.

Rose

It's important that you start taking alfalfa homeopathic mother tincture. It's more beneficial than the herbal tea.

ORS salt packets are available in health food stores. You can dissolve the content in some water and this water is orally given to the patient who's having fluid loss for some days. (when it's given to infant it'd have to be special bottles that are used to feed infants) With what you describe it's difficult to say if it's the case of diarrhea(essentially because you say she's gaining weight). If you want you could confirm it with a physician.

Once this third dose of sulphur is over, leave 4 to 5 days gap and take a dose(2pills or drops) of Calcarea 200c.
