Nappy rash

Hi, my nearly 3 year old has reccuring nappy rash, its just not going away and I have tried everything, I mean everything! I posted on here a year or so ago and was advised to give her Mehodinum (SP?) this remedy worked brilliantly, but the rash came back again a while later, when I asked my homoeopath for the same remedy she said not to give it to her as it is usually a miasmatic remedy and not usually given more than once, I don't really understand this, can any one please help as its really affecting her :( please

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give her a single dose of Sulphur 30 and see how that affects in next few days.

I think there is subsitute of Calendola cream in nappy rash. However, internally Sulph may affect.

Hi thank you for your suggestions but we have really litteraly tryed everything, its been three years, we hve tryed sulphur, it helped a little at first but did not hold, then the 200 did not respond, she has been on an exema protocol, rhus tox, hepa sulph... to be honest I think we have tryed all the usual and some of the not so usual suspects for the rash, as far as we can tell the urine is burning her skin, if she has no 'accidents' it will clear up, but the second urine touches her skin, it burns, iches and is red raw, we have tryed calendula cream, comfrey cream, arnica water, low PH diet, elimination diet, toxin flush, I really need help, can someone send me a form to fill for past history please so I can start from the beginning?
Many thanks :)

Female 3 years

Nappy rash since approx 2 months

Location is on skin where urine touches from nappy at night and accidents in day

We feel it is the urine burning the skin

No other physical symptoms, in good health

Started at approx 2 months

Aggravated by urine and scratching as it breaks the skin and bleeds

Favourite food is oranges, not many foods she dislikes that I can even think of one!

Normal thirst

Normal hunger, eats very well balanced healthy diet

Bowel movements are regular

Sleeps 11 hours a night and up to 2 in the day

Medicines, at 8 weeks she was taken to hospital after stopping breathing in the night, we were told it was apnoea induced by reflux, was given ranitadine and baby gaviscon to stop milk coming back up and the acid production, no other medicine apart from homeopathic remedies since (took these medicines for months)

She is fair haired, slightly small, slender not chubby

Diseases in family are breast C, fibroids, endometoriosis, high blood pressure, stroke

We think she has had chicken pox, measles and mild whooping cough all not suppressed and supported with natural medicine and homeopathy, she was a cesarean due to placenta previa

She is of very strong character, very affectionate, loves cuddles, will show love easlily, can be quite stroppy, a bit mischievous, will shout at others when wants her own way, quite whiney,

We have tried calendula cream, comfrey cream, arnica water, eczema protocol, low PH diet, elimination diet, toxin flush... Medhorrinum seems to be the remedy with the biggest affect, but it still came back :(

Many thanks for any help

Sulphur is the remedy that can be given if the nappy rash is red, dry, flaky, and feels hot.

Rhus Tox should be given if there are small blisters and the skin is very itchy.

Merc Sol is the homeopathic remedy of choice if the nappy area is very sweaty, and if the baby produces more saliva than normal. This may also be associated with teething.

Now it will be eazy for you to select the suitable remedy out of above alongwith calendola crea for external use.

Also try to avoid nappy for four five days and check the surface.

Hi, thank you for your suggestions, but we have tried all of the remedies above, our problem is that we have tried everything we think is the right remedy, some times the remedy will help for a while but they never really hold, I make calendula cream myself so this is also something we use a lot, but it is only ever a topical treatment it never stops the rash.

We do avoid nappies as she only wares them at night.

Is there anything else you could suggest or another remedy?

Many thanks

I hear you very well. Nappy rash is some form of food allergy. Find out what food causes it by carefully re-introducing one at a time and remove them for some time.

Apply Almond oil externally to heal the rash.

Cornus Circinata 3x, 2 drops in 10 ml water, once a day for 4 days is enough to fix it. This is easily available in US and you can try in the country you live in.

If this is not available, then write back and I can write to you the close alternate.

Thank you for your reply,

Is that as a tincture or a homeopathic remedy? Sorry just need to be sure in what form to give, and we are used to taking homeopathic remedies in tablet form, and tinctures as a liquid.

We have tried an exclusion diet but could not find anything, so I will try again a bit more wide spectrum of food to eliminate, any suggestions of what is possible or most likely food sensitivity?

Again many thanks :)

Cornus 3x is a homeopathic liquid dilution (in liquid form). Tincture typically refers to potency of 0 or Q. This is a potenced medicine and hence called liquid dilution.

Few possible cause: processed food and tinned food (including baby food that comes in jar), wheat and milk products, including cheese (almost in this order of priority)

please apply almond oil and is very prompt. Do not use soap, esp in that area. it is a irritant.
