Positive ANA test might be SLE
hello one more problemmy wife ANA positive and she has following symptoms
continuous fever 99-101 F
pain in all joints especially in hand and lower limbs
anaemia
fatigue
doctor is suggesting that she might have SLE
although all other tests for SLE comes negative.
please help me.

I would be very cautious in accepting the Lupus diagnosis , and the consequent treatment.
As you can see below it could be an Arthritic problem .
Has she had in the last two years any antibiotic treatment .
If so what was the condition that caused the administration of the antibiotic-- what type antibiotic?
Anti-nuclear antibodies (ANAs, also known as anti-nuclear factor or ANF) are detected in a large group of autoimmune disorders. The presence of ANA is indicative of lupus erythematosus, though they also appear in some other auto-immune diseases such as Sjögren's syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune hepatitis, scleroderma and dermatomyositis, and various non-rheumatological conditions associated with tissue damage.
