hands constantly going to sleep and numb
Both of my hands especially my fingers go numb like they are asleep. They do this even when I am using them, it wakes me up in the middle of the night with the feeling, all the time. What is it I need to take to help stop this. This just started about 3 to 4 weeks ago. Also before this for about a year, the back of my legs and buttocks go numb and go to sleep feeling if I stand or walk to much. I have to bend down for a little bit to make it go away. I dont know if this is the same thing going on with my hands or if the same remedy will help it also.tweetystone on 2005-08-18

Odd have you had any spinal injury in the last 2/3 years?
The nerves for both hands and legs go down the spine , a slipped disc can cause the problem.
THe remedy that springs to mind first -- if it is only a minor problem --- is Rhus Tox 30c.
Take a few doses at night on going to sleep , If it does not improve you may need to see an Osteopath.

May I suggest that if you do not respond to Rhus Tox that you consider using Arnica 30c either in the dry dose or preferably in the Split Dose which I have described on this forum on other threads.
Dosage Dry 2 globules twice daily
Split dose 1 teaspoonful twice daily.
Arnica helps in helping the circulation of blood especially in the capillaries and I believe that it should help your problem. It is quite safe in daily use over long periods and I have used it every night for over 9 years with amazing results.

I am 48 years old. I am not diabetic. I do check it about once or twice a week as my husband is diabetic. I did not have any kind of spinal injury. I do have any health problems. My blood pressure. I used to have panic attacks but have resolved that with Seleinum. If there is anything else you need to know or I have missed on telling you, please let me know.

Do I need the Arnica Montana or the Arnica Montana Radix? And what is the difference? I am getting ready to order this.

You may only use the Arnica Montana and not the Radix which is not normally used in Homeopathy.
Radix is the root of the Arnica and is not recognized in both the Boericke and Kent Materia Medicas.

Arnica has nothing to do with your problem.take carbo veg 30 four times daily atleast for 15 days.there is sluggishness of the blood supply.this medicine will remove this sluggishness.

Hello Tweety -
The homeopaths can advise if vitamin supplementation will interfere with their recommended remedies.
I developed a case of carpal tunnel last year. My hands (thumbs and first two fingers - if it's ring and pinky fingers, it's a different nerve) would go numb if I didn't keep my wrists held perfectly straight. It was getting to where I couldn't hold a fork. It's said that vitamin B-6 helps in some cases, so I began taking 200mg of vitamin B-6 per day and wore a brace at night on my worst hand. The B-6 worked great. When that bottle ran out, I got 100mg capsules and now take those maybe 3 times per week. If your problem is in the wrist and not the spine, wearing wrist braces at night will help a lot too.
If the remedies and/or vitamins do not help, please see someone about this - preferably NOT someone who wants to do surgery on your wrists right away! I thought the numbness was merely an inconvenience, and then learned that nerve damage can result if this is not taken care of.
Good luck!

Hi I am a massage therapist it sounds like a brachial plexus problem, which occurs in the cervial region of your spine. when you go to sleep you are cutting off the nerves impuse. Try getting a neck and shoulder massage ..and sleep on your back. Dont sleep on your arm or side. also try Bellis for deep muscle problems. Best wishes
