Dr Batra's - Steroids laced?
HiI have been undergoing treatment with Dr Batra's for the last 18 months for backache related matters. I have noticed the following:
(a) Backache has been relieved to a large extent
(b) However I have also gained about 5/6 kgs in the same period - my diet and activities otherwise have remained the same. Also my weight over the last 15 years haas otherwise remaiend constant
(c) I have also developed some kind of joint pains in my wrists and annkles during this period.
Dr Batra's medicine prescriptions do not allow the patient the knowledge of the specific heomeopathic medicine being prescribed.
My questions:
(a)Is homeopaathy generally understood to be a steroid free treatment?
(b) Is it likely that Dr B's homeopathic medicines contain some kind of steroids that have aided the backache recovery but have resulted in the other side-effects.
(c) Is it possible for the any homeopathic medicine to have resutled in the side effect of joint pains?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
All homeopathic remedies (above 12c potency) do NOT contain any single molecule of the originating substance .
So if you were given a Steroid at 15c then there would be NO chemical trace of a steroid.
However I would be dubious about the work of a man who refused to divulge the medication he was supplying.

I have heard of homeopaths who add steroids to their remedies for quick results - never sure how.
Whether or not this is true of Batra's franchisees, I would suggest you discontinue any treatment that you are suspicious of or uncomfortable with.

Looks like more a corporation than anything else. I have seen this type of clinic before with no results, just a money churning machine!

Have been reading other postings and have realised that one of the other symptoms that i have is that my stomach bloats up by about 2/3/inches by evening -- has been happening about 4/5 months after i started Dr Batra's treatment.
I had so far assumed that it ws soem kind of an effect given my very irregular dietary habits.
But am wondering now if it could be linked to Dr B's medicines?

BTW - only interested - have you spoken to the doctor who gives you these medicines? What response? Is it true that the Batra Clinics give you packaged pills? Like, not in bottles, but packed in strips like most allopathic pills?

Poor chap, if u feel they have steroids, go and get the medicines checked in govt laboratory. U need to get the medicines for chromatography and confirm your results. But if the results are negative(which is surely going to happen anyway)then u are gone because the company is not going to leave u just as it is. Not only the company but other homoeopaths will also not leave u without any legal action against u.
Do u think that just because u are gaining wt means u are taking steroids. For god sake improve your lifestyle, eating habits and lazy chap go for brisk walk at least for half an hour. Why dont u people believe in homoeopathy. First have faith in your doctor. Regarding prescriptions, ask your doctor, they will never refuse. As far as I know about dr batras, they will provide you the prescription on your demand. For the people who are very consumer rights conscious, please try to understand why prescriptions are not given by most of the homoeopaths. It is because there are certain medicines which needs to repeated only once in 2-3 mths, but most of the times the people who think themselves very intelligent go and buy those medicines over the counter and take them regularily without doctors advise. If anything happens is blamed on doctor. Dear patients give the doctors some space to work. In India people never fill their IT returns without consulting CA but they will take medicines without doctor's advise.

I too am fed up of Dr. Batra.
Their staff in Jayangar is very incompatent and has no integrity.
I wish I had read this forum before enrolling with them.
I live in US and paid fee for one year for my son's eczema treatment.
After taking the money they showed their true colours.
They would take 10 days to reply back to emails.
I would have to stay up till midnight to talk to them and not to mention "what a waste of phone bill".
I asked them to send medicine by courier and also paid for the courier.
They sent the medicines by regular post, after 15 days I received the medicines for two weeks where as I had asked for medicines for three months.
I wish Dr. Batra himself reads this forum some day and sees the kind of unprofessionalism and dissatisfaction is being caused by his company.

There are good reasons and reports to believe the possibility of Ayurvedic and homeopathic doctors mixing steroids to produce immediate relief for some diseases.
As for Batra, I know couple of people who feel cheated about treatment of baldness. He charged them so much wihout any results. He is duping people worried about their hair loss by giving large Ads daily in most widely circulated daily newspapers. If he had a real effective treatment, he would not have had to spend lakhs of rupees in advertisement. The message would have spread by word of mouth and made this guy popular.
Unfortunately, in India the legal system is so ineffective coupled with careless attitude of the authorities, many unethical doctors and even quakes flourish in India under their noses. You make a fool of yourself if you ever try to take up these issues with them.
All of you visiting any other medical Forum should highlight such observations and reports.

I think in Dr. Batra's abscence it is not fair to establish an opinion against him and his practice.
Sometime it is not in the interest of a patient to reveal medicine name. However, if the patient is leaving then homeopath should tell the name of medicines prescribed.

If you get immediate releif means think some fraud medicine is prescribe to us, But some medicine like aconinte,chamomilla, is working immediatly. For a good doctor prescription will be open.

First of all I thank this forum to bring true coloirs out of Dr Batra. I took medicines from them for hair loss, first on internet then second time personally visiting them. There was no improvement at all in the condition instead it worsened. More over they did not bothered to send the medicines on time and at last they stopped sending the medicines while they charged full both times.

It is most astounding that in our country the so called doctors can freely exploit the innocence of the patients.
As usual, today's daily Mumbai edition of Times of India carries a big Ad by Batra.
Many question arise - the prime is that "Do the doctors have to spend lakhs by lay publicity" to trap the unfortunate patients. Is this not a mal-practice?

Homeopathy is also a spritual based healing system. It looks, that much commercializations, making money, advertisement etc. are not valid in this system.
Anyway few bad experiances may not discredit whole system. It is also a duty on any person to get treatment from any good, senier, experianced & less commercial healer. Mistakes and misprescriptions can be possible in any system but these can't form the basis of any system.

I strongly belive that homeopathy medicines especially those at Dr Batras' do not have steroids..I have friends taking medicines from Dr Batras', so do I my self for the past 2-3years. I have seen children take their meidicines too but have never come across any complaint of any sort.
As 'doctor'said maybe 'vikrant' is gaining weight because of change in lifestyle and the joint pains are happening due to the increase in weight.
Steorids are not the only answer to all problems. I think that every one taking homeopathic treatment should have a unshakable belief in homeopathy and their doctors. If at all there are any concerns they should be talked out with the respective doctors who would always be willing to help.
I think that if 'Vikrant'or any Dr Batras' patients, or any one else have any issues regarding the medicines that they are taking then they should take it up with their respective doctors and get them cleared.
