teen boy with chronic nasal congestion

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but hopeful that someone can help me with my son's chronic nasal congestion. He sleeps with his mouth open and his speech sounds muffled and he has a continuous blocked nose, and often gets colds. He is 13 and has a history of nose colds and ear infections.. mucus that gets stuck, colds that never completely resolve, associated with night breathing problems and apnea. In addition to this he has difficulty concentrating in class, and can't express his thoughts well, and has started occasional stammering. He reads every second of the day, usually comics, but also can tackle big novels, which he reads at incredible speed. That is the only time he is still, although he is less active now at 13 than at 7, and has become a bit lethargic, not wanting to do much exercise. He must touch everything, and at the science museum runs from exhibit to exhibit, hardly stopping to read the signs. He says he is anxious about the future and wants to know always what is ahead. Hates surprises. He is an incredible eater, but only of foods he likes (pasta, carbs are favorites, sugar, salt, meat). He has some quirks, like sleeping in the clothes he will wear the next day, waking at 5:20 to be at school by 7, having favorite clothes he won't take off. He is sweet and loving, and likes to please. He will still try to touch my breasts when insecure, even though he knows it annoys me. He rarely gets truly mad and never explodes. He may get irritated and talk rudely when he doesn't get his way. He loves to sing, to laugh.. There is probably more.. if anyone can suggest remedies, I would most appreciate it!
