hair loss with waxy deposits at the base of hair-Please help Sir Joe,
I realize i shouldn't be starting a post before looking into the earlier posts where my problem might have been addressed. But I am writing this post as i find my problem a little different and have started losing faith in any kind of treatment.I am 26 years old man, and am suffering from hair loss at the top and at the forehead. The texture of hair has been very thin right from childhood and now with hair falling the scalp is easily visible. I have undergone treatment with a specialty clinic here(Dr. Batra's as i came across this forum much later) and a new complication has started.I have noticed some small thin hairs coming off my scalp with some waxy deposit at the base of the hair. And as i try pull out the deposit ,with it comes out a thin small hair.It wasn't there before i started the treatment.I can feel those deposits as i run my fingers through the hair.These deposits get lesser immediately after shampooing but come back in few hours.My scalp is oily and hair very thin.Please help me. I have been trying all the help available over internet.Right from Iron-zinc tablets to aloe-vera juice,aloe vera application on affected area etc.I also take flax-seed powder with my meals.Please let me know if i need to provide some more information.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The following remedies will help to arrest the loss of hair and will also help to regrow the hair in about 2 months.
Arnica Q or Mother Tincture 5ml bottle
Arnica 30c in the Liquid Dilution in Ethanol
2 500ml bottles of Spring water sold in supermarkets.
Any good Fish Liver Oil in capsule form.
Method:
Pour out about 100ml of water from each bottle.
Pour in 20 drops of Arnica Q into the water in a bottle and you should notice that the water bubbles freely when the bottle is shaken about.
Half a teaspoonful of this medicated water is to be applied on the scalp twice daily.
Please note that this water remedy with Arnica Q is NOT for oral use. It is only for massaging into the roots of the hair.
Arnica 30c for Oral use
Make the Wet dose of Arnica 30 as follows:
Order Arnica 30c in a 5ml in the Liquid Dilution in Ethanol in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you take a capfull which is a dose twice daily. This is best taken first thing in the morning and last thing before bed.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.
Take a capsule of the Fish Liver Oil daily.
Use Johnsons Baby Shampoo daily for your shower which will help to wash away the perspiration from the scalp which causes the bacteria that are responsible for your Dandruff to propagate.
Avoid Coffee, preserved meats like sausages, ham and bacon, and all canned cola beverages as they antidote the therapy.
It is understood that you will STOP all other remedies and drugs you are taking today.
Drink plenty of water and exercise daily for at least 45 minutes like walking or jogging depending on your age. The idea is to sweat it out. This is essential to promote the circulation of blood in the body which Arnica will help to promote.
Patients who suffered from severe hair loss who were losing over 200 hairs daily have confirmed that they discovered in about a week that the loss of their hair had been arrested. They also noticed that the new growth was plainly visible above their scalp when their hair was parted in about 6 weeks.
Report progress in a month

I take in the Arnica C solution twice everyday, Once in the morning after brushing my teeth and once before going to bed in the night.The Arnica Q solution too once after taking bath in the morning and once before going to sleep.While applying the solution using my fingertips i see some hair strands on my hands even just after the shower. Is this normal? About the effectiveness of the treatment,i do have a good feeling about it ,though i am yet not in a position to claim something. But i am very positive that it will work. Please let me know if there is something else i should be doing to enhance the effectiveness of the medication.

I have been taking the right remedy now for a month now and i still get some strands of hair when i apply the Arnica Q on the crown.I have also been taking the Arnica 30 wet dose (3 drops in around 450 ml of spring water) twice everyday. I am also taking the capsule as instructed by you. Shall i continue with the treatment or do you suggest some change? Please reply.

If my therapy for your hair loss has helped you, it is obvious that you must continue to use it.

It has been around 4 months since i started using the medication prescribed by you. I see some improvement in the overall health of the scalp. But the waxy substrate at the base of the hair still persists. Do you suggest something else that i should do to make the treatment more effective. Thanks

I am mentioning the details of the progress over past 4 -4.5 months. As suggested by you,i ordered the Arnica Q and Arnica 30C online from Dr. Wilmar Schwabe India Pvt Ltd. I got two half lite bottles of Himalayan Natural Mineral water from the supermarket. I made some space (around 3 cm) at the top of one of the bottles and added 3 drops of Arnica 30C.I have been taking a cap-full(after shaking it 10-20 times of it twice everyday, once in the morning after brushing and once before going to bed. I do not eat or drink anything 30 mins before and after taking the preparation. To prepare the second solution i add 20 drops of arnica Q to the second bottle with around 400 ml of water. I have been applying this on my scalp twice (after shaking it 10-20 times)everyday around the same time as i take the arnica 30c preparation. I am applying it on scalp and not taking it orally. Being a vegetarian i don't eat any kind of preserved meat, though i at times end up eating cakes which may have contained eggs. Initially it was difficult staying away from coffee (1 cup everyday) but now since 2-2.5 months i have given up coffee too. as suggested by you i am taking the seacod capsules (2x2 capsules) daily.I go for a walk as well every evening. and i had already stopped taking medicines that i was given by Dr. Batra's clinic. In fact this waxy deposit complication was never there before i started treatment at Dr. Batra's. I was losing hair though. I use Johnson's baby shampoo to wash my hair everyday. But even after 3-4 hours after shampoo, if i run my fingers through my hair i can feel some white granules sticking to the base of the hair. When i try pulling it out, a small thin strand of hair comes out with the sticky substrate sticking at the base of the hair. One more thing that i would like to bring to your notice is that when i apply the ArnicaQ solution on my scalp, i get some hairs on my hands.

The waxy white granules are Dandruff and this is due to some fungal infection of your hair follicles which may present some problems in eradicating. One way is to repeat the shampoo with Johnsons Baby Shampoo twice or even thrice as this will hopefully fix the Dandruff.

This refers to the Arnica Q which you massage on your hair twice daily.
I have observed that Arnica Q acts somewhat like fertilizer on plants to stimulate growth of the hair.
My own hair is a good example at age 84. It is all grey today but I do have have at least 75% of my original stiff black hair although it is soft and silky.

But i have come to notice some flakes (probably dandruff) even after an hour of shampooing with Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo. Do you suggest some measures here or shall i continue with the medication?
