Is Oligospermia curable by Homeopathy

Hi,
I am a 36 year married male suffering from Oligospermia. A brief medical history follows:

1. 1st test , two and half years back - very few non motile spermatazoa.

2. Visited Infertility clinic about two years back. Karyotype test, FSH, LH test OK. Doctor gave some additional testosterone hormone, though my hormone levels were within normal range. After the hormone therapy, semen analysis showed complete lack of sperm (azoospemia).

3. Started on IVF with ICSI. Sperm extracted using TESA. Wife had 1 cycle of IVF with fresh embryo. No pregnancy.

4. While my wife was undergoing treatment for another transfer with Frozen Embryo, I had another Semen Analysis. This came back with count of 3 million/cc with very low motility.

5. Fertility specialist advised against any treatment. However, I visited a reputed Homeopath. He gave some hope. Started treatment with daily doses of Testis 3X. This has been going on for more than 7 months now.

6. Wife's second embryo transfer failed. Decided to have another semen analysis before going for another round of fresh IVF with ICSI. This came back with sperm count of 17 million/cc and very low motility. Thought that some progress has been made, and my Homeopath was also quite happy. FYI, this test was done only a month and half back.

5. On wife's insistence visited an Urologist. The doctor suspected Varicocele. He asked for another semen analysis and a scan for varicocele. The result for semen analysis came back - very bad. The sperm count has drastically gone down. It is now just 1-2/HPF.
Will be going for the varicocele scan today.

My questions :
a. Is there really some cure for oligospermia in Homeopathy.
b. Can the sperm count fluctuate so much - 17 million/cc to almost no sperm in a month.
c. If varicocele is detected, should I go operation ?
d. Lastly, will it be proper to show these new reports to my Homeopath ?

Sorry for the long posting. However, I am really confused. My wife and I want a child, but she is not yet ready to go for a fresh cycle of IVF agony. Is there any hope for my cure ?

Thanks and Regards -

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
how active are you? exercise and such??

Not too active. Long hours of desk job leaves very little time for any physical activity. Even two years back I was very obese. Subsequently reduced weight by almost 18 kgs primarily thru diet management - now just 3 kgs overweight.
Used to smoke cigarettes a lot. Have cut down to 6-7 cigs/day.

you need activity--not just walking---access you ability and push yourself to point of healthy exertion--make this a regular part of your life--

take 1 dose calcarea 30c -no repition of dose

start taking essential fatty acid supplement.

avoid all acidic foods and drinks, eggs, all alcoholic beverages, milk products

remedy no good alone---MUST INCREASE activity. get out of doors---

To Yaladh,

A.) Oligospermia can be improved with the help of Homeopathic Medicines like the one suggested by John Stanton, Calcarea and Other remedies as suit the case. But the improvement would depend on the underlying condition.

B.) In conditions like Varicocoele and Cysts of the Spermatic Cord, there could be variation of Sperm Counts from time to time.

C.) In cases of Varicocoele where there is minimal reflux of venous blood Homeopathic Medicines can take care of it.

D.) It is imperative that you show all the new reports to your Homeopath.

E.) Your wife's anxiety and reluctance to go for a fresh cycle of IVF is understandable. If in three months time you see the sperm count increasing significantly, then Homeopathic Medication is in the right direction.

Hi folks,
Thanks for your reply. The doppler scan for varicocele came back negative. Interestingly, I did have an epididymal cyst. However a recent USG showed this to have vanished. The urologist whom I was consulting told that epididymal cysts some times "burst and vanish" of their own accord.

I have two more questions:
1. The tests that showed sperm count of 3 million/cc and 17 million/cc were done at a normal laboratory. However the latest test - the one which shows low sperm count - was done from a sophisticated and costly lab recommended by the urologist. So can the difference be attributed to human error at the first lab? I always thought semen analysis/sperm count was a pretty much standard test.

2. Can the weather be culprit? I have heard the sperm count may go down during summer. In the last one an half months, the temperature here has increased quite a lot and currently it is extremely hot with temperature touching 42 degree Celsius

Thanks again for your replies.

Well i'm suffering from a similar condition and plan to give myself some more time to cure this before attempting IVF etc.
I've already taken Fertyl M for about 3 months without any results.
I found this interesting link - of Amish Hospital (cant post link as forum doesnt allow, but you can search for it in Google)gives me some hope.

I believe its a homeopathy cure.
Any comments?

I wanted to point out to you that if the homeopathic advice doesn't work out enough (I do know homeopathics but no experience in this area), you could consider acupuncture as well. Sometimes this can be used to stimulate fertility directly. Since it's a very simple method, why not try it eh? But if you do, find yourself a Chinese one, a good one!

Hi'Dear Doctors,
I tnink that the patient need Anti Miasmatic Remedy like as Syphilinum-1 one dose weekly and also try Damiana-Q 10 drops thrice a day with little water.
