Life-long bells palsy
I'm curious to see what kind of response I get for this... I was on this website for a completely different topic and looked up Bell';s palsy out of curiosity. I am 35 years old and have had it for as long as I can remember. I didn't even realize I had a condition till about 10 years ago. (It's not a very severe case, but have a crooked smile and right eye doesn't completely close). Anyway, I may be 35 years too late in asking, but is there a remedy for Bell's palsy after this long?I am about to start a round of Cal. Flour. for something else, but interested for future reference.
Thanks! :)

9. complaints/conditions/symptoms:
1. dry eye/irritation due to bells palsy
2. partial paralysis on right side
3. herpes II
4. bartholin cyst and sebaceous cyst on scalp which I am about to start a remedy for.
5. very rarely get a sharp shooting pain down my neck (from ear to base of neck) that lasts for 1-2 seconds. happens maybe 1-2 times a year. guessing from the bells palsy.
6. used to frequently get these cold sore-type things on my index finger, left hand. Haven't seen that in a long time. Don't get sores on my mouth but it looks like a herpes type sore.
7. no sense of smell, which I kinda like cuz the men in this house are gross (haha). Oddly enuff, Im pretty sure my taste is fine. (and if its not I dont ever want it be, or else I'll be 300 lbs - love to eat- from New Orleans :)
10. how long? for the bells palsy, I'm not sure. Have had it as long as I can remember, but my face looks normal in baby pics and early toddler years. So must have happened as a toddler, but that's totally a guess.
no smell - for as long as I can remember
herpes II - started seeing symptoms when pregnant back in 2002-2003
sores on hand- Im guessing 2004-05
bartholin cyst - 2005, had it drained in 2010 after birth of second child because it got pretty big during second pregnancy, but noticed it was back earlier this year.
cyst on scalp - noticed it maybe a year ago. started out the size of a pea and was that way for months. Then about 3 months ago it got big and tender to the touch. (I posted on another thread about the cysts and was prescribed calcarea flourata, so we'll see what happens with that.)
11. not diabetic
12. prefer sweets usually
13. thirst is normal, usually only drink during meals. Could definitely be drinking more water.
14. tongue is normal, people always say I cant taste because I cant smell but that's not true as far as i can tell.
15. bp - dont know the numbers but at annual checkups they always say its very good
16. what's happening? concerning the bells palsy... my paralysis is definitely not as bad as some I've seen. I have a 'crooked smile.' Smile goes up about half way on the right side. no pain at all but eye gets irritated and dry. I can blink normally but I know my eye doesn't close completely and cracks open a little when I fall asleep. Right eyebrow doesn't go up at all so no wrinkles on right forehead. My nose/nostrils move normally.
17. Aside from the eye irritation slight tenderness on my scalp cyst, I feel good. It's more just knowing that something is there and wanting to correct it. But I'm so used to it by now I had accepted that this was just how I looked. Didn't even know I had Bells palsy until my sister started studying it in PT school. Then had another PT confirm it. But physically, I feel really energetic and healthy.
18. It has affected me my whole life because it's always caused a bit of insecurity, especially in school or meeting new people. But for most of my life I thought I was just born this way and accepted it so thought it was no biggy. Then when I started reading about people treating themselves herbally/homeopathically, I thought, hey, its worth a shot.
19. Nothing painful, just those rare episodes of sharp pain in the neck, but it goes away as suddenly as it comes. And little tenderness on the cyst on my head. Emotionally, I feel like it would be freakin awesome if I could treat this cuz I've always thought nothing could be done, but I'd be just fine if not. I should probably also mention that as a spiritual person, I feel like I'm not my body anyway. I'll only have this body a short while anyway so as long as its working properly, I'm good.
20. What comes to mind? I think people wonder whats up with my face when they see me. It's weird though, cuz I've always been told how pretty I am, so when people stare I don't know if its cuz they think I'm attractive or weird looking. (haha)
21. Situation that had a big effect on me? You mean in general or regarding the bells palsy? In general, my dad passed away from c***** when I was 8-9 years old. Had a pretty tumultuous relationship in college. (bad choice in boyfriend) Think it changed the way I am in relationships now, guarded. And many of my girlfriends growing up betrayed me so I don't have any close girlfriends now. Am very friendly but don't have like a 'best friend'.
22. death of my father was sad, of course, but I always felt like he was still with me, and still do. Betrayals of boyfriend/friends felt shocking because I was so innocent and compassionate with other people, I couldn't imagine people could be that way.
23. What sensation? Uh, I don't know. fortunately, its not something I've dealt with in a long time. Have a great husband and family.
24. What am I showing by that habit? (not sure if I'm understanding this question but...) My husband says I'm not very affectionate. I am more-so with my kids but am probably more guarded with him, even if I don't realize it.
25. current medicine - none
26. family background:
dad passed from hodgkins disease
grandmother diagnosed with breast c***** but was treated.
grandfather has prostate c*****
other grandfather passed after years and years of heart disease
27. qualifications: bachelors degree in liberal arts/ advertising
28. stay home mom
29. food likes/dislikes: I pretty much enjoy all foods, seafood, pasta, meats, cheeses, fruit, vegetables, etc. Can't think of anything I don't like.
30. Not aware if foods make problem worse, none that I can tell.
31. personality: I think I'm a pretty calm, laid back person. I do get frustrated and irritated at times when my kids drive me crazy but I think that's normal. Im pretty comfortable in front of crowds. I get nervous sure, but I've done plays, fitness competition, public speaking, presentations, etc. I do think I hold back a little with my husband but now that I'm aware of it I make an attempt to be more affectionate. I don't anger easily, except when I lose my patience with my son. It can be a struggle doing homework with him because he has mild adhd as well as my husband. I have to remind myself to be extra patient at those times. I'm not the most social person. I do like going out and hanging out occasionally but I think I'm more of an introvert and definitely enjoy my alone time. I don't think I'm a big worrier, but I do catch myself thinking crazy what ifs, mostly at night before falling asleep. Like if somebody tries breaking into the house, or i get a car crash with the kids, etc. But then I catch myself and I'm like, ew stop that! At the same time, I'm also very hopeful and excited about my future. Overall, I think I'm a happy-spirited person, energetic and positive.
32. aggravation and amelioration: I don't really notice any differences one way or the other.
Wow, that was long, haha, sorry. Hope that helps. Think now I have arthritis too from all this typing :)
Thanks a bunch and curious to see what you think.

Will analyze and come back to you:
Some basic questions:
1) Do you feel chilly, warm or normal?
2) Are you sensitive to music?
3) Have u taken homeopathic remedies before? If yes, then which ones?
4) What other treatments have you undertaken?
5) Any issues with menstrual cycles?

Ok, sounds great.
1. No I'm fine with temperature. Unless I'm in the extremes of course, but otherwise comfortable.
2. Not sensitive to music, or any other sounds. I enjoy music.
3. I did take a week of silicea 30c the very last week of April. (5 pellets, 3x's a day)
4. That same week I was taking 1 goldenseal root capsule a day and taking 2 sitz baths a day with 4 goldenseal root capsules broken into the water. Didn't notice much of a change.
5. Menstrual cycle has always been normal, 6-7 days and right on schedule.
I also should mention that I had the chicken pox pretty bad when I was very young, maybe 1 or 2 years old. I had read that Bell';s palsy might be linked to something viral so thought it might be worth mentioning.
Thanks for your help!!

Does any liquid/pus etc ooze out of any one of these cysts?
Do you have oily skin?
How is your digestion? Gases? acidity, etc.
Which parts are paralyzed on the right side? What is their location?
When did you feel you had trouble smiling or raising your eyebrow? How old were you then? What was happening in your life then? Any injury, any fears, fright around that time?
Did Silicia have any effect on Bartholin Cyst?
Do you like/dislike cold milk, eggs?

No nothing has ever come out of either cyst as far as I can tell.
I have combination/sometimes dry skin on my face
My digestion is also good. I'm very regular and I seem to have a pretty tough stomach. Nothing really bothers me. I can have days when I get a little gassy depending on what I eat, but couldn't tell you what. It doesn't happen often enuff for me to recognize what contributes to it.
It's mostly noticeable on my smile, right cheek, my right eye, which doesn't fully close and entire right eyebrow doesn't lift. Don't know how else to specify the location, it's the whole area.
When? Well as I said, for as long as I can remember. Could be birth, could be infancy, or toddler years. Just don't know. The reason I'm guessing my toddler years is because my face seems to look normal in my baby photos. As for what was happening then, who knows, I was a baby. Haha. And no injuries at that time. Only thing that i had around that time was the chicken pox.I've never been in the hospital for anything except for the birth of my 2 kids.
No didn't notice any change from the silicea.
I like cold milk, but prefer chocolate milk. I'm not a huge fan of eggs but do like them sometimes. I'm more of a pancakes/ biscuits girl. I do eat more of them when I'm watching my weight though.
Also, I don't know if u remember me mentioning this, but I had already been on this website asking about the cysts and was prescribed calcarea fluorata 6x. I just got it this afternoon in the mail so gonna start taking that tomorrow to see what happens. You had asked earlier if I was taking anything so I figured you'd need to know. I literally just got it an hour ago.
Thanks for the quick response!

Hi
Please take Petroleum 30 as per the below method:
Put 1 drop or 2 pellets of the remedy into 3 teaspoons water. Let it mix. Sip all of it at once. This is one dose.
Please take one dose everyday for 3 days.
Please update me 1 week after the doses are finished.
Treatment takes time, especially of the long standing complaints. Please be patient.

I definitely will do that, thanks a bunch!
I assume I have to wait till I'm done with the calc. fluorata right?

Ok, so I'll do the calc. fl. For 7 days then start the petroleum 30. Then I'll report back. Oh, is it petroleum 30 c or x?

Petroleum 30C. If you find Petroleum 30X also, no problem.
