How do I make a homemade 3X remedy?
From what I can tell, making a 3X remedy out of a mother tincture should be fairly simple. I'd like to do this on my own, using a Siberian Ginseng mother tincture. From what I have read, it is done this way:
I start with the mother tincture and place one part of it by volume into 9 parts of a diluent.
IS THE DILUENT WATER OR VODKA?
I then succuss this mixture. How many times do I succuss it.
I now have a 2X potency, correct?
I then take one part by volume of this 2X liquid solution and then combine it with 9 parts of the diluent, succuss it and then arrive at my 3X potency.
Am I correct? Any tips?
I then take how many drops of this final 3X solution?
Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I found a brief description on the web of how to do it. I followed the directions regarding volume to volume ratios. I used a 20% alcohol (I used vodka) to water ratio as my diluent. I succussed 10 times as that seemed to be the "favored" time. I understand that a lot of homeopaths will vary on succussion technique.
So, now I have a 3X Siberian Ginseng remedy. I let it sit and just noticed that the plant tincture/extract is hovering on top of the liquid. When I shake it, it blends again. Did I do something wrong? Should I add something to make it blend?
Thank you.

Do not use Vodka. It is not pure alcohol. Use pure alcohol(as far as possible, ask your pharmacist), otherwise distilled water. 1 part of Ginseng mother tincture plus 9 parts of pure alcohol to be shaken vigorously 100 times to give 1x. Out of this product, take 1 part, mix with 9 parts of pure alcohol and shake vigorously 100 times to give 2x and so on.
1 drop of final product to be added to 1 ounce of distilled water and shaken vigorously 10 times. Out of this take 1 tea spoon as a dose.

Dear, sahai has explained you well. There is no need to use alcohol if it is for your personal use,use distilled water and if not available boiled and cooled water is sufficient because in old days distilled water was not available as is now a days.Regarding shaking(WITH DUE APOLOGY TO SAHAI)if shaking is 99 times or 101 times it does not makes any difference, the basic idea is that it must be thoroughly mixed.

As I'm going about making this now, I realize it's quite a waste to dump the initial mixture which is the 1X. I realize that I take one part out of it, but can I save this bottle and re-use it to make another series of potencies?
If so, do I need to replace the 1 part I took out of it to make it "whole" again?
If that is the case, what do I use to replace it? Distilled water (for personal use as Sajjad suggested) or...what?
Also, the remedy book I have notes that 10 drops of the Ginseng 3X should be taken three times a day. Sahai said to take one drop of final product and add to one ounce of distilled water and shake 10 times. I've never done this with any remedy when taking it. Can I just dose the 10 drops from the final product under the tongue or mixed in small amount of water?
Thank you.

1.keep your 1x original as it is for further use,you can use it in future for further potencies.
2.If the 3x,you made is watery, non alcoholic you can take it directly.and if it is alcoholic it is better to mix in water to avoid alcoholic irritation.
3.According to my information Ginsing in original tincture is much beneficial than 3x.

Yes, absolutely. I agree about Ginseng in tincture form. It's just the one tincture I had on hand that I was interested in using for my first attempt at making a 3X liquid dilution. Thanks for the further info. I was diluting the drop in one ounce of water and shaking it 10 times then taking one teaspoon from that solution. Rather complicated for a 3X remedy. Would rather just take it from bottle instead. I'm just intrigued about what (if any) effect it would have in 3X.
I'm a curious person as I'm sure you've figured out by now.

I have suggested diluting 1 drop in 1 ounce of water for best effect as per Organon(the homeopathic bible). If you deviate from the standard it will only be a little less effective but it will still work. So now you do as you like.
I suppose this is only for academic discussion because you agree that, as advised by my friend sajjadakram, mother tincture is the best for you.
