Will Nux Vomica Antidote Influenzinum 200C?
I have been following the various posts on Nux Vomica as well as the posts on Influenzium 200C as a preventative for the flu. My husband is a classic Nux Constitution and getting good results with Nux for stress but he also wants to take the Influenzinum 200C (one dose and then another two weeks later as described by Joe) for flu prevention.I'm not a big believer in mixing remedies back and forth like this. But if he takes the Influ. 200C and then takes another dose of Nux a month or more later, will the Nux antidote the Influenzium 200C?

Actually it might very well antidote, or worse it might create an interaction between the two of them, or you may end up with a proving of Influenzinum. Every medicine you take carries a risk, and that risk is higher if a remedy is not chosen homoeopathically (based on the symptoms the patient is displaying).
If he is getting good results with one medicine, do not change to a different one. There must be good reason to change remedies, and the main reasons are if Nux vomica is not curing him, or if his state markedly changes.
You cannot prevent the flu this way - by using this nosode. It is possible to use homoeopathy prophylactically, but we have guidelines for this in the Organon of Medicine. During any epidemic a genus is found - a general state that the disease produces. A remedy, based on these symptoms, can be taken while you are in the area or in contact with people who have been exposed. This remedy will change every time a new epidemic comes along.
The reason this works, is that is creates an artificial disease in you that resembles the epidemic - and this repels the real one, since two similar diseases cannot exist side by side.
However the best way to prevent the flu is to have good consitutional treatment (good health). Even if someone comes in contact with the flu then the reaction should be small and easily thrown off. If not, treat using the remedy that is indicated by the symptoms.
The principle of vaccination as developed by orthodox medicine is flawed, and does not fit into homoeopathic philosophy at all.
