Evocationer: would you be willing to take this? Page 5 of 6

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Perhaps so? I guess we should wait and see how the Phos does, and then if no improvement, try the Pulsatilla? I do have some on hand.

I suppose you could definitely be right that it's possible it's my viewpoint that is skewing it. I find that when I am not doing so well myself, my kids seem to do poorly too, either that or I am just less able to be patient with their idiosyncrasies. I tend to be more worried about them and sensitive to their emotions when I myself am feeling down or worried in general. So I wonder if that affects it too.

It seems like the Phos remedy is helping him. I gave it to him last on 9-8, and it seemed to help him right away that day. He did well until today, when he woke up on the wrong side of the bed (so to speak) and was teary about everything. I did give him another dose today to see if it would help him out. He was looking all washed-out today, too. I wonder if maybe he's just coming down with something? At any rate, it does seem like Phos is a good match for him, thus far.

Ok great, now we just need to get Kody on the right track.

So for quite some time now, Ethan has been waiting to urinate until the last minute, often getting his pants/underwear wet as a result. This morning he fought me about going pee first thing, even crying about it. When I tried to find out why, he resisted, but finally said it was because it felt bad when he went pee. As best I can figure, it's more an uncomfortable feeling than an outright pain. At first he pointed to his back, over his pelvis for the feeling, but later said he felt it all over his body. I gave h a few examples of kind of feelings---tickly, poky, achy like a bruise, and he said yes to each one, so I'm not sure exactly what's what. But apparently it's enough of a discomfort for him to put oft urinating as much ad he can, and even today wanted milk instead of water because 'water goes right through me'.

Hi- you should get his urine checked for a urinary tract
infection. If you cannot get to the dr. you can get a test
strip from the drug store. You have to rule that out.

btw-
Evocationer is off the forum for 4 days , starting today.

Regards,

Simone

Thanks Simone, I appreciate the info.
I absolutely hate doctors so if this persists, I may get a test strip from the store. This isn't the first time he's mentioned it though, so I'm thinking it's likely not an infection.

It is not a normal thing to have pain
where you cry when you need to pee
or have pain in the back area- that
is the kidney area most likely. Pain is the body signal saying something
needs attention.

As a Mom myself, I would get the
facts, no matter what. You have to rule
things out, if he has an on and off
type infection, that can lead to
a stricture and all kinds of other things.

I hear you, and I have had zillions of UTIs myself, so I know what to look for. It doesn't seem like it hurts him to pee, I asked him if it hurts or just feels funny. He said it feels funny. But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to rule it out. We can't really afford the strips from the store, so I'd have to take him to the doctor, which I hate doing but will if I have to.

I would do that asap. Kids have a strong
life force, and he could be having an
infection, having his body get it to a low
level -but not gone completely. This
can get into the kidneys etc. He needs
a proper diagnosis.

It does not have to hurt either, he could
just feel strange pressure and not know
how to explain it and that is why he does
not want to drink water and feel it.

Good to know. Thanks Simone.

Hi- Let me know what you find out. I have had similar
things go on with my kids, and thought they were not
sick when they really were.

simone717 9 years ago
All right.
I did find that I can get those strips pretty cheap at Walmart, so I'll probably do that vs. the doctor. Have to wait till this evening because my husband has the car.

Hi- Of course up to you but if it is something that
has gone to kidneys, you need to stop it right
away, and use antibiotics- and antibiotics depending
on the type of bacteria it is. So the Dr. visit will
cover all of that in one go.

In Men
Frequent urges to urinate, with only small amounts of urine
Cloudy or dark urine
Blood in urine
Urine with a strong, foul odor
Burning sensation while urinating
Penis pain or discharge
Pain in the back just below the ribs
For either sex, back pain below the ribs is associated with kidney infections and should be taken seriously. If you experience kidney pain coupled with a fever, weakness, chills or nausea, seek medical attention immediately to prevent complications.

Causes-

Digestive upsets that cause chronic diarrhea
Exposure to unsanitary water, such as in a pond or river
Blockages in the urinary tract, such as kidney stones, that inhibit urination
Frequent sexual activity, especially unprotected sex or sex involving the anus
Forcing urine to stay in a full bladder, for example during a long car ride
Suppressed or compromised immune systems

I didn't see this conversation I am sorry.

When did this start exactly?

What other kinds of symptoms does he have?

How is he mentally/emotionally?

I'm not really sure when it started. I think it's been going on all along, but has just come to my attention the reason behind it. I recall when Ethan was just a little guy, before Kody was born, so maybe 2 years old or 3, telling me he had owie pee. We took him into the ER and they catheterized him, but it came back all clear, so we just assumed he somehow disliked the sensation or was overly sensitive.
For a long time now he has been waiting till the last moment to urinate and often getting his underwear wet in the process. In the last month or two he has told me he squeezes his penis when he urinates. I thought he was just doing it for fun, to change the stream or something?
He always seems reluctant to go pee if we tell him to, and will just seem to wait until he can't hold it and then run into the bathroom. He does similarly for BMs, so I figured he just had a 'thing' with using the bathroom.
Most recently---like a couple weeks ago maybe---was when he was having a really tough day and ended up being in tears about us telling him to go pee (vs just being obstinate about it). So I tried to get to the bottom of it, and then realized it was actually physically bothering him. I've noticed he seems to hold his penis often when playing or walking around, I thought it was just him playing with it, but wonder now if it's because of discomfort?

Oh, and I forgot you asked for mental/emotional state.
He seems a little glum or bored. I've had a rough couple of weeks so I know that affects him. He has been having dark circles under his eyes for awhile now again.
He seems, as usual, overly sensitive to others' pain while still a bit oblivious (appearing so, anyway) to most other things going on around him. He has been easily upset if things don't go quite his way.

The rubric that represents that symptom is:

Urination, involuntary, if desire is delayed:

calc, dig, ham, kreos, merc, nat-m, PULS, SEP, squil, SULPH, Thuj

So either we should repeat the remedy that worked well so far (Phos) or we move to Pulsatilla for which this symptom is a keynote and is a remedy I have already considered recently for him.

Evocationer 9 years ago
Seems like his remedy (Phos) was not doing much of anything for him recently. I do have Pulsatilla in 30c.

alaskamom 9 years ago
Alright, Puls 30 is fine. Just try one dose to begin with first, to test his response.

Evocationer 9 years ago
OK sounds like a plan.

alaskamom 9 years ago
Not seeing any change...should I do anything yet?

alaskamom 9 years ago
I wanted to ask about Ethan, too, since you're on tonight. He has been moody, dark circles under his eyes, defiant and kind of quietly angry when he doesn't get his way. Wants to spend a lot of time on the computer/TV. Still wetting his pants when he runs to go pee.

alaskamom 9 years ago
What was the last potency of Phos you gave him?

Evocationer 9 years ago
30c--and so far, just that one initial dose. Three hits, three drops, two teaspoons.

alaskamom 9 years ago
Oh, and I meant of the Pulsatilla, 30c was what we just tried recently.
