baby nightmares?

My 8 month old baby seems to be having nightmares or night terrors. He will stir and cry and be distressed, and once he 'wakes' up or opens his eyes he shortly realises all is Ok and stops crying?
Could this be nightmares? We thought it may be teething issues instead, but he hasnt changed even when given pain relief (both homeopathic and allopathic).
He is a happy and healthy baby otherwise. Any suggestions, PLEASE!!!

Hi! were you able to solve this?
Is your son better. My 8 month daughter is sobbing while sleeping and I do not know what it is. It happened a few tijes in the morning an hour after her 6 am bottle, while asleep.

She has no teeth yet... and has never been sick. She is a very health baby.
I realized when i wake her up she sometime has gases, but other than that nothing. Does that happened to your son too? Please anyone any suggestion?
