The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Constitutional remedy help. Fear of taking remedies.

Help me find constitutional remedy so I can get over my fears? I'd go to a homeopath but I get really nervous about taking remedies! It's so silly. I see them work miracles with my family. I have a kit. I'm a HUGE fan of homeopathy but I have avoided helping me!! I take my boys to our homeopathic Dr but I am too scared to go to him and I'm afraid of not taking the remedy after I go. I feel like if I can know what I need I can read and research and work on my fear slowly. Idea's? Can someone help me?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I can certainly attempt to help you do that. Please click on my profile name to learn more about me.

HOW TO DESCRIBE YOUR COMPLAINTS (Physical Components)

In homoeopathy, prescription is based on precise details of various symptoms from which you suffer. To tell or write to a homoeopathic physician 'I have a headache ', ' an eruption ' or “a cough” would not be enough. If you inform him 'I have headache with sharp shooting pains in the left side of the head and temple, these pains always come on when the slightest cold air strikes the head. I feel better by pressing the head very hard.” Then only you have given all the information required for making a good homoeopathic prescription. The success of the prescription depends; largely on how detailed your description of the symptoms is.
We require the following details about your symptoms.

LOCATION: Please give the exact location of sensation, pain or other symptom. Also describe where the pain or sensation or symptom spreads.

SENSATION: Express the type of sensation or the pain or other symptom that you get in your own words however simple or funny it may seem. You may have a sensation that a mouse is crawling or the heart was grasped by an iron hand or you may have a pain that is cutting, burning jerking, pressing. Express the sensation or pain as it feels to you. Try to explain the whole sensation in the exact way it is happening and not just the word. We need to understand the whole process of the sensation as it is happening to you.

WHAT MAKES YOU WORSE OR BETTER:

Many factors are likely to influence your complaint. Some factors may intensify it and some factors may relieve the trouble. A detailed list of the factors is given at the end. Please refer it while describing each of your troubles and indicate which factors make the complaint better or worse.

DISCHARGES: You may have a discharge from nose, ears, mouth, eyes, ulcers, fistula, eruptions on skin, private parts, etc. Please describe your discharge in detail including colour, consistency, appearance, odour etc.

1] Your Complaint:

(Use your own words as far as possible, but if you have recognized or diagnosed the condition, give this information also.) By answering as many of these questions as fully as possible, you are helping me to understand what your body and unconscious mind is conveying. This can help me find a remedy for you.)
• What is the name of your complaint?
• When did the complaint begin?
• Where is it located?
• What sort of sensations (or emotions) do you associate with it? Sensation may or may not be painful
• Does anything make it better or worse?
• How does it bother you? How does it affect your day-to-day life?
• How does it feel like to have this/these problem/s? What are your feelings about being a person with this kind of complaint
• Did any event happen which caused the complaint? Describe the emotion associated with it.
• What are the other symptoms started with it, esp. mental and physical symptoms, which are not directly related to the main complaint.
• What are your reactions to it? How do you manage it?
When does it tend to occur?(time/day/other event)

PLEASE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FOR EACH SYMPTOM/COMPLAINT SEPARATELY. DO NOT INCLUDE ALL OF YOUR COMPLAINTS TOGETHER IN EACH QUESTION eg. all questions answered for Leg Pain, then same questions answered for Migraines, then same questions answered for Panic attacks etc.

Dreams are very important in unlocking the deepest truth of a patient’s case, but it is not enough to simply describe them in a sentence. Give as much information as you feel comfortable doing.
YES! It's bugging me. I have dreams that are not sad but not very happy either. They ALWAYS have someone from my last in them. I can go somewhere in my dream and I'll see a close friend from high school. I found the house of my dreams last night while dreaming. Everything was awesome. I had new friends with me. It was in a city I liked. Each room was amazing. The yard was great for kids. There was a river in it that ran over me while I smiled and giggled BUT my mom drove me there! It could be a cousin that I wasn't close to but it is every night that someone from my past sneaks in. I noticed that is was more between 4-7am when I have my past dreams. I have other dreams too but they are not really happy lately. I had a terrible one about my mom a few months ago. She was dying in a terrible cold and dark hospital. she was screaming out while having a heart attack (which has happen) but in my dream I was close by and the sounds she was making was awful. They cut her chest open and the worst smell ever permitated the room. I woke up so upset.
Blah or bad dream or not remembering dreams-Minus a dolphin one I had last month that was beautiful and amazing.

15. Did you have any reoccurring dreams as a child, or earlier in your life? Describe those in detail including any feelings that came with them.
No. Recuring is new.

16. What were you like as a child, your character, your personality, your fears, your dreams, your problems?
*Wild and hyper. I was super friendly but shy when pushed. I was stubborn and VERY agumentative. I kept up with the boys and I was fiesty. I felt stupid in school cause it was hard for me. Listening was extra hard. I wanted to wiggle and sit on the ground. I hated to sleep and left the light on every night. I'd even get up during the night to play. I had to be busy and stimulated at all times. I was calmer with animals or nature. I was sickly and prone to allgeries. Dairy made me phelmy and sick.
I had SO many warts and canker sores that I remember being in pain often.
Like now.....I was the happiest sad person you ever met. The most hopeful hopesless person you can imgine. I had my first panic attack at 5 and it was intense. They came at least once a week until my early 20's. Sometimes I'd panic for days on end. I'd weep and beg for comfort from my mom and only my mom. I was so upset about dying. I was even afraid of lightening/thunder for a bit. I HATED church and panicked that WHOLE time we were there.

17. What kind of environment did you grow up in? What problems where there at home, with your family, with your parents, with your siblings, with school?
*both my parents were control freaks, they didn't show much love to each other.
*we were encouraged to compete with each other.
*my mom blamed the devil for the scary stuff
*I had 3 brothers and we fought a ton
*my dad had a terrible temper and was very physical with us
*my mom was very depressed and angry
*my mom was always a 'victim' and had fallings outs and fights with friends
*my dad was cold and angry
*we taught to think big and to follow our dreams

Alright, I have spent some time looking at your case. There are a LOT of symptoms here - it seems very complex.

The miasm looks very distinct - Sycotic (avoiding is the main strategy of this miasm).

I believe the remedy that you should begin with is Medorrhinum - the nosode of this miasm. Many of the symptoms you describe are found in that remedy, and you seem to typify the personality of this remedy.

Restless and cannot keep still
Always anticipating, and lacking the desire for realization'
Extremes, no bounds, lack of orientation points
Contrasting extremes in one person
Passionate, lack of self control, impatient
Overwhelmed by inner impulses
Bouts of hopelessness
Can work hard but only for short periods
States of excess
Wild fluctuations, of energy, mood, thoughts
Procrastinates
Intense nervous sensibility, starts easily
Anxiety anticipating events
Fear something will happen
Fear of c-ancer
Presentiment of death
Wild, scattered, out of control feeling

Are you able to get the LM potencies? If so obtain LM1 (0/1). If not, get 30c. I would prefer you get this in liquid form (oral dosing liquid or similar term).

If you instead have pillules or pellets, you will need a small bottle and a dropper to make your own liquid dose. Mix water and alcohol into this small bottle to the ratio of 5:1. Dissolve 3 pillules/pellets into this bottle. All doses will be made from this bottle.

If you already have a liquid dose just start from step 1.

1. Hit the bottle 5 times firmly against the palm of the hand

2. Place 3 drops into 100mls of clean fresh water

3. Stir very thoroughly

4. Take 2 teaspoons out into the mouth and hold for 20 seconds, then swallow.

This is one dose and the same steps should be taken for any further doses, unless I ask you to change them in some way.

If any old symptoms reappear, or any current symptoms worsen, this is a GOOD sign in most cases. DO NOT SUPPRESS them with other kinds of medication unless you are in real danger (which is a highly unlikely reaction to a remedy).

However, if you are on regular medication it is also important that you do NOT stop taking this. Once it is determined the medicine has acted beneficially, we can look at reducing such medication if safe to do so

Can you take one dose per day. If you are using 30c, no more than 3 doses (one each day). If you are using LM1, daily doses until the end of a week. STOP if any symptom appears to worsen noticeably, no matter how many doses you have taken.

Report your progress at the end of that first week (7 days).
