Q. About phlegmatic remedies

Just a general question about phlegmatic types. I noticed for example that hepar sulph is a phlegmatic remedy, but is better with dampness. Therein lies my question...isnt that a contradiction, when phlegmatic types tend to hold onto water? Same with nux v.

I realized this because I found that Hepar Sulph helped with so many skin symptoms (and chronic abscess) in additional to emotional well being. I had avoided using it because of that modality of better with dampness. Same with Nux V. Calc sulph actually matches me more modality wise, yet hepar sulph works so much better. Can anyone explain to me the contradiction and maybe something I'm missing?

Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Homoeopathy is not built around the concept of the humours. That is an old unrelated system that was tacked on to our remedy pictures by practitioners who still used or believed in it. There will be contradictions because our medicines are not meant to be classified that way.

There is ONLY one rule in homoeopathy for choosing medicines - the Law of Similars (what a substance can cause it can also cure). Those other kinds of reasons remedies are given are not reliable, and are not homoeopathy.
