med for hypertension

sufer from primary hypertension, on 25 mg atenolol per day BP controlled.male 49 years.want to know effectiveness and side effects of raowolfina serpentina for high bp.please advice.all other parmeters are normal inclusing cholestrol and blood sugar.otherwise any other medicene which can remove my reliance on atenolol and keep bp under control
