Gas relief for 3 month old
3 month old who is exclusively breastfed seems to have gas starting around 5 am every day. She also was diagnosed with acid reflux at 1 month. We are currently trying nat phos 6x for her. We are on day 3 with that. I don't eat much dairy, spices or acidic foods. She eats every 2-2.5 hrs during the day and will sleep for a 5-6 hr period at night then she is up 2-3 hrs later for another feed and doesn't sleep much after that. She grunts, kicks her legs, moves her body when she wakes around 5. Is there anything I can give her to help with the gas? We have tried gripe water and colic calm. Thank youneshemmom on 2015-04-20
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If you are giving her Nat-phos, then that is what it is supposed to cure. Once you start treatment, you will need to wait and see how it works. Is someone managing your child's case?
I doubt it will help though. I assume you are giving it as a kind of 'GERD therapy', and this is not homoeopathy. When our medicines are used like allopathic medicines, the results are generally poor.
The specific individual symptoms are how we prescribe medicines in homoeopathy. Using the name of the condition is how orthodox medicine works. I know there is a lot of misinformation floating around the net about Nat-phos and it can be hard for parents to work out what is truth and what isn't.

Yes we are trying to help with GERD and I decided to stop with the nat phos as after a few days things didn't seem better at all. Baby doesn't spit up but after a feed she is only content if in upright position, moving and being held. She was to a point with Zantac that she was smiling all of the time, content on her back for long stretches and sleeping well. She used to wake up by making cooing noises or grunt type noises now she wakes up crying. She was sleeping closer to 6+ hrs and now we barely get 5.5 and then she is up 2-2.5 hrs later. I don't know if being off Zantac has made her regress a little or if this is something different. During the day she wants to eat at almost 2 hours to the dot and she used to be closer to 3 hours in between. I don't know if there is anything else to try for her reflux and sleeping or not?
