The ABC Homeopathy Forum

how to choose therapist

Hello,

I have a problem choosing a therapist and I though that somebody on this forum might have a good advice for me.

I worked with a very good homeopath a few years ago. She was able to help me with a number of issues and I've never had aggravations with her. However, after my mother also started treatment with her this led to many frictions between my therapist and me and it escalated to a point where I can no longer continue seeing her. I had series of bad accidents a year ago which is why I needed her help again but she overdosed me on a new remedy I haven't taken before which created serious aggravation. (Opium to be exact) It almost cost me my life. I was shocked by the effect because prior to this my experience with homeopathy was only positive. I thought she is intentionally trying to hurt me and my mother reinforced this concern, she also encouraged me to seek help somewhere else.

At my last visit she said that my mind is in a "dissolved state" as a normal progression of the treatment and it will be incredibly difficult for another homeopath to continue treatment at this point not knowing my case and what remedies have been used so far. This statement alone made me feel very suspicious of her practice. She refused to discuss my case with anyone or say what remedies she has used. It made me feel like she really doesn't care about my health and is using it to blackmail me so I was now certain I don't want to see her again.

Unfortunately her predictions turned true, it is incredibly difficult for me to find a therapist right now. The next homeopath I saw gave me another overdose of a wrong remedy which I barely survived. He was also wrong with the next two remedies. The last one he prescribed was Ignatia, but instead of taking the Ignatia I saw another highly rated specialist. He gave me Nux to antidote the Opium but it made things even worse. Three or four wrong remedies down the line I decided to try and take the Ignatia. It did help with the most bothering symptom - a strange constipation that's both constipation and diarrhea at the same time. The Ignatia also helped with the rectal prolapse that I had received as a result from the wrong treatment. However, it also gave me headaches I didn't have before, dizziness and joint pains. So I stopped taking it and took the next recommended remedy - Causticum, which did not help.

I know that my constitutional remedy is Lachesis or another snake remedy. I have had success with it before, it has worked very well and I am a classic example of this constitution, I even have a scar in the middle of my thong that visually divides it into two. However, my current therapist disagrees with me and doesn't want to give Lachesis to me. He asked me if I have night sweats which I used to have before but no longer do and he discarded the remedy right away. I am not happy with how he takes my case because he is not asking enough questions. He assumed I don't bother wearing tight clothes when in fact I have so many symptoms from tight clothes - I sweat, get discharge from tight pants, I gain weight when my clothes are tight. He has never asked me about the effect of clothes, just assumed I don't have problems because I haven't mentioned it. So now he is trying all these other remedies on me that don't work.

I am thorn between discussing my remedy further with him or going back to the previous therapist who gave me Ignatia. I'd like to try one more dose of the Inatia or Lachesis before I go back to him though. If Ignatia doesn't really works I wouldn't go again.

Do you have any thoughts on this? Please help me, I want to get better already.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
good homeopaths are rare people. there are many who claim to be homeopaths but in reality they are not. it is a very difficult art to practice.
the genuine homeopath will listen and write down all that you say and then ask questions if there are gaps in what you describe. money is not their primary concern. the welfare of the patient is always foremost in their minds.
Lachesis is not the only medicine which has difficulty from tight clothing. all snake poisons are worse during and after sleep. they are also worse during change of season. the totality is more important than one keynote.

Dear Breathe,

If you want to let me know the country/area you are in I can
give you some options of homeopaths who I think are
good practitioners.

Your other choice is to put your case on here-you can click
user names and see the past posts of people and ask for
someone in your headline- do a new thread for this.

Dear Simone,

Thank you for you response. I think that it would be best to personally see someone. I talk a lot about my symptoms and posting here will take forever, and its not a simple case either. I emailed you with my whereabouts. Thank you so much!

Telescope,

Yes, I do aggravate during sleep and mornings are the worst time of day. I also feel bad during change of seasons, especially winter and spring as I am extremely chilly. A few things that don't point exactly to snakes are joint pains and many burning sensations and acrid discharges.
