Reversing of grey hair to black

Dear all,
Is there a remedy that will restore the black pigment to hair that has become white? I have some patients with premature greying of hair, which is very extensive, affecting almost 80% to 90% of the hairs on the scalp (and greying of pubic hair and facial hair as well). They are very distressed by this, and would like to reverse it.

Any remedies that work?

Have you had any success with homoepathy, has any patient actually managed to reverse the greying and restore the black, or should I look to Ayurveda for that?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
if grey hair is because of aging there is no solution to it .Because in homeopathy and in Ayurvedic treatments are done to any disease but grey hair it a natural order in old age .If the patient is above 50 year, nothing can reverse it .
There is treatment for premature gray hair in both homeopathy and in Ayurvedic.

Dear Gaintrox,
As I said, it is "premature greying". This means the persons are young, very young actually. The mechanism of the greying is same whether the person is young or old (I am an allopathic doctor by the way).

What I'm asking for are the remedies and if they actually work (for young people obviously - no old person comes for treatment of grey hair, only young ones).

few causes of premature hair greying are:
=> vitiligo
=>vitamin B12 deficiency
=>nervous exhaustion
=>problems with the pituitary
=>thyroid
=>testosterone levels
=>anemic
=>mental agitation

In overall the cause are the one which are responsible for hormone changes by changing the body metabolism .AS basic
universal medicine in homeopathy is silicea (it is a tissue salt),but it work very slowly and cannot cure most of the causes.In homeopathy medicine is selected on basis of symptoms and patient
characteristics .so, if we see for different causes there are different medicines including reducing its causes.
for ex:-
if it is because of vitiligo .we will use PHOSPHORUS,VINCA MINOR,PHOSPHORICUM ACIDUM ( PHOSPHORICUM ACIDUM can also be use in many cases of premature hair greying )

there can not be a general medicine.But cure is possible and the curability is depend on the homeopath skills.

In case of Ayurveda it is possible but,same depend upon the doctor.I don't have much knowledge on Ayurveda but i can say this much premature hair grey is consider in '"pitta dosha"" in Ayurveda.

sorry, for my previous reply .

You may not be aware of the new research on vitiligo and
premature gray hair. A team of European researchers claims to have found not only the root cause of gray hair, but also a treatment for the condition. Additionally, their treatment may help people with vitiligo, a condition that causes the loss of pigment in patches of skin, they say.

It's been known for years that hair turns gray due to a natural buildup of hydrogen peroxide in hair follicles, which causes oxidative stress and graying. (Hydrogen peroxide solutions have been used for years as a cheap and easy way to "go blonde.")

__________________________

In younger people, an enzyme called catalase breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. But lower levels of this enzyme, combined with lower levels of enzymes called MSR A and B that repair hydrogen peroxide damage, cause hair to turn gray as we age.
___________________________

The researchers, whose findings are published in the experimental-biology publication FASEB Journal, analyzed 2,411 people with vitiligo.

By looking at people with two different kinds of vitiligo — strictly segmental vitiligo (SSV) and non-segmental vitiligo (NSV) — they discovered that both kinds resulted from oxidative stress.

And by applying a topical treatment, a substance called PC-KUS, the researchers successfully treated the discolored skin and eyelashes of people with vitiligo.

Though gray hair isn't always a welcome sign of aging, there's some evidence that suggests it can be an indicator of good health.

Researchers in 2012 found that wild boars with significant graying hair "were actually those in prime condition and with the lowest levels of oxidative damage," researcher Ismael Galván of the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales in Spain said in a statement.

"Far from being a sign of age-related decline, hair graying seems to indicate good condition in wild boars," Galván said.

Nonetheless, many people will go to extreme lengths to hide any hint of aging, including gray hair.

"For generations, numerous remedies have been concocted to hide gray hair," Dr. Gerald Weissmann, editor-in-chief of FASEB Journal, said in a statement. "But now, for the first time, an actual treatment that gets to the root of the problem has been developed."

The treatment will be welcome news to people with severe or unsightly cases of vitiligo. "This condition, while technically cosmetic, can have serious socio-emotional effects," Weissmann said. "Developing an effective treatment … has the potential to radically improve many people's lives."

__________

Makes me wonder as far as genetic predisposition of Celtic peoples, who often start to turn
silver in their teens, that perhaps a thousand years ago, if it had to do with natural protection,
or diet.

Thank you, Gaintrox and Simone717.

Yes I'm aware of the research into catalase, etc.

Thanks Simon for good posting, as always.

Selenium 3x and Calc Carb 6 alternately has found to clinically help reverse grey hair, both pre-mature and in 40s, when they are in the verge. This could be worth the try.

The frequency is decided by severity, age and other conditions. One dose a day is often what I suggest to start and then modulate later.

It is interesting to see how it grows black. It has a uniform tint (less white) and then slowly turns black.

Hi Reva,

1. What happens after hair turns black? Do some of these people have
to take it forever, or have they been able to stop and hair stays the same
black?

2.Have you tried this on light brown, or blonde hair people?

Thanks.

Simone

I have tried it only on Black Hair people so far.

Remedies are given for few weeks only. I add remedies to eliminate pathogens after this, which hold the result much longer (year+).
