Crystal Rock and Baking Soda Caused Lumps

About a year ago I began using a crystal rock deodorant sticks that I purchased from the health food store. Then about 6 months afterwards I began using baking soda along with the crystal rock. I would simply dampen under my arms and then sprinkle the baking soda under my arms. Next I would wet the crystal rock and rub it under my arms. There would be a slight fizzle. Somewhere throughout this routine the hair under my arms and nowhere else on my body began to turn red. I don't know it it began turning red before I started mixing the two or not. Then about a couple of weeks ago I developed a large lump and two very small lumps under my right arm and then about a week after I developed 3 lumps under my left arm although not as large as the lump under my right arm. Can anyone tell me is this a result of me mixing the crystal rock and the baking soda together, and what should I do now?

Thanks,

Macman

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Certainly STOP using baking soda.

Also stop the crystal until the lumps go.

Probable best bet is to take HEP Sul 6x twice a day for a week and then stop.

Check results after 2 weeks

I personally have never used the crystal rock type deodorant, but my family does see a licensed homeopath, and she has said not to use the crystal type, but I don't remember why she said not to. Have you tried Alba stick or Herbal Clear spray deodorants? I like both of them very well. I have tried several brands, but these worked the best for me, giving me longer odor protection. Never tried baking soda for this, but have used it to wash the armpits in the shower.

I remebered something about the crystal deodorant. Some brands do contain potassium alum, a natural salt, that is supposedly not absorbed through the skin. This still may not be whats causing your problem. Just thought you might like to know. Good luck.

I have used and recommended Johnsons Baby Shampoo to overcome underarm BO. A few drops is all that is required and this is massaged into the armpit and washed off.

It is the alkali in the soap that permits the bacteria to proliferate thereby causing the unpleasant odour but the chemicals used in the formula of the shampoo do not promote the bacterial growth.

I have used it for the last 40+ years and have no hesitation in recommending it as the safest and the best deoderant.

For now I have simply stopped using anything under my arms until these *#$^)&# lumps go away. I'll get some HEP Sul 6x as suggested.

Suppression of perspiration is particularly aggravating in some people, I used to suppress with baby powder and soon enough it got real bad and smelly, sometimes now I use a lavender home made one or nothing at all.
