I don't know where to get homoeopathic info/procdure--except Hahnemann---yeah I know alot of 'cats' write this and write that.....but none I appreciate as I do with Hahnemann...probably biased..but when has being biased always about being wrong thing -

-i.e. biased about not putting my hand in fire..bummer if I do--that is a "righteous" bias--in my mind anyway...

Dear cosmic weaver

Sorry for raking up your old post.I see that you are seeking answers about yourself much like I was.

In ayurveda you should find all
answers .You seem to be Vata prakriti individual. Reply if interested.

Dear Teupne, I am currently under homeopathic treatment so for now I am not using any other remedies or treatments (in order to know what is the progress due to). But I am grateful for the offer. I respect Ayurveda and TCM. Did you have success with Ayurveda when it comes to emotional trauma, negative memories? Just out of curiosity.

(I'm vata-kapha, btw - mentally vata but also very retentive)

Yes It did help me immensely. .I am sold not just on its therapeutic aspects but the wider philosophy encompassing the world and human life itself. It is very very profound.a very fundamental science .

I guessed you vata-kapha (better with warmth). You can't go too wrong here with only three options vata pitta and kapha :) unlike homeopathy with scores of constitutional remedies.

Homeopathy I believe touches only one aspect of healing .Several others are unaccounted for like your environment, relationships, lifestyle, profession, life choices, yoga...I can go on and on...Ayurveda covers all these aspects and much more(not easily understood) like astrological healing, vastu, gem therapy etc.

I have not read your history completely. But I believe can give you some ideas that might be useful.

I can't resonate with gem healing or astrology as a Christian, but I should pay attention to my nutrition and other habits. Maybe you can give me some ideas.

Dear cosmic weaver, I will help you heal.

You are predominantly vata.

I need following answers:

Age, sex, country, height, weight.

Frame:tall, short, thin, bony, wide, stocky?

Weight:protruding veins, may be heavy but spongy tissues, moderate, heavy??

Describe yourself physically? Frame, weight, head, hair, forehead, face, skin, complexion, eyes, nose, lips, teeth, neck, arms, fingers, legs, nails, sweat/odour, digestion,

in terms of small, moderate, large, thin, long, broad, warm, cold, dry , sharp etc.

Describe:

Appetite, Taste you are addicted to currently, life pace, stamina, medicines work in low doses medium or high doses, pulse rate, pain type (severe moderate, mild, variable, shifting)

Describe:

Sensitivities (noise, light, odours), learning (quick, focused, slow), nature (adaptable, indecisive, critical, intelligent, slow, dull), faith (changeable, fanatical, loyal), emotions (fear anxiety, nervous, calm, content), habits (travel, culture, humour, eccentric, politics, sports, dance, competitive, flowers, cosmetics)

I could have assumed you are vata and prescribed but better that I get complete picture .It will also help you know yourself better.

I also did not believe in gem therapy earlier but these gems are used as oral medicines in ayurveda .They are like herbs only but stronger. They work when ingested and also to lesser degree when they are worn .

Ayurvedic healing is natural healing so takes time. But you will be healed completely body, mind, emotions included.

You described your ailments, describe duration of treatment on western medicine.

Your diet (most important):Veg/non veg....???

Teupne 8 years ago
What you describe about minerals is similar to TCM, where they use powdered jade and other stones as oral medicines. I am totally open to the method, but right now I might only adopt some advice on nutrition and such, in order to achieve more balance and make it easier for homeo meds to do their work. I wouldn't want two therapies to interfere.

Unfortunately I'm non veg. I do very bad on vegetarian or vegan diets. My constitution can't handle it and I get ill.

Ok I put it together. Let me know if you think there are foods I should avoid or eat more, or habits that are harmful for my constitution.

Ok I got it too:)

Vayu (air and space) is dry, light, cold, rough, irregular, mobile, rarefied

Vata (vayu) causes pain.

Key words you said:) air, constipation, sensitive, warmth better, worse cold and dry food.fear, anxiety, nervous, fast, unable to focus, fast learner, loner, running away, changeable etc.

Vayu wieght:low, protruding veins and bones, can't keep weight on, may be heavy but with fluctuating weight and spongy tissues.

If you did prakriti test on holisticonline. Com under ayurveda section your scores would be vata followed by kapha then pitta.check it and report scores.

Vayu people are prone to addiction they should avoid especially tobacco sugar and caffeine(poison for you).they have an addiction for pain control.you love pain.

All of us have different proportions of three doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) that permeate entire body (organs, channels, everything)
Vata (air and ether)
Pitta (fire and water)
Kapha (earth and water)

When one dosha exceeds its healthy relative proportion we are born With then imbalance occurs and diseases generate as you have.

So to restore balance we decrease excess doshas in your case vayu.

Digestion is most important. In ayurveda most diseases start in stomach.Due to improper digestion toxins (ama)/excess doshas is created which disrupt so normal body functions. Over time it is distributed through body thus transferred from stomach to other body parts and creating illness there.

To begin healing start with:

1.Remove causative factor :

Diet most important. Vayu is excessed by pungent, bitter and astringent taste.
it is balanced by sweet sour and salty taste.

You have some kapha traits (large forehead, white coating on tongue etc.) Some pitta traits (intelligent, critical)

However if you were kapha or pitta bitter taste will heal you since it is made of air and space so decreases other elements of water earth fire (kapha and pitta)

Confirm that bitter taste will increase all your symptoms (fear anxiety cold light headed giddy)??

I think you unable to do without meat may be two reasons:mostly your body is habituated to meat so you can't stop.withdrawl symptoms occur.

Or may be since you are taking from childhood so body demands it and can't do without.

I usually strongly oppose meat because it is heavy to digest and TAMSIK (important concept)

You should try quitting it may help immensely for first reason above .You may feel bad to begin with but in long run will help a lot.however second reason is also possible then change to less TAMSIK meat like fish, smaller animals.

So remove incorrect diet first.Follow anti vata diet with sour salty and sweet taste.

2.Detoxify:

Body will heal itself once toxins are expelled.

Start with Triphla(The best). It detoxes body over time and then rejuvenates it.It will cleanse your colon(main vata site in body).Under panchkarma routine (five steps to clean body).Others flax seed, psyllium seeds will also help.

Take it in morning empty stomach .nothing till one hour.

In food take vayu spices cardamom coriander cinnamon ginger rock salt.

Also take aloe Vera sap in morning if its not too bitter for you.aloevera is pretty good for all digestive issues.

Follow above for 20 days and report.

Over long term idea is to increase fire earth and water in your body and it will heal miraculously .

Also to increase SATVA(Important) and OJAS.

Being vayu you are addicted to techno ecstacy music.

Teupne 8 years ago
Ayurveda is oldest healing science.

Even TCM is an imitation of ayurveda.Chinese historic visitors ti india learned ayurveda and renamed it TCM in china.

They renamed five great elements. (Earth water fire air and space).

They renamed vata pitta kapha (chi yin yang)

However they don't have SATVA rajas and tamas concept which is very important concept.

I would not prescribe you any gems formulations as they are very effective , fast acting but also need accurate prescribing otherwise can be harmful.
They and other metal/mineral preparations are prepared using

Special process that detoxes them and turns them in to medicine.

Indian vastu science:Chinese imitated fengshui

Marma therapy:

Chinese imitated acupuncture

Chinese imitate everything mobiles, tablets, laptops, electronics ...everything :)

Unlike homeopathy ayurveda is very simple and natural. I started with homeopathy , tried a lot ,but it is too confusing so many symptoms matching and all.i got only minor benefit from it.

Also the six tastes are build from 5 elements:

Sweet:earth and water

Bitter:air and space

Astringent:earth and air

Sour:earth and fire

Salty:water and fire

Pungent:fire and air

You have to align tastes with your body dosha using them to increase fire earth and water (less water as you have edema)

So increase pitta and kapha and reduce vayu.

Kapha is love that unites us it will heal you.you will forgive and forget easily.you will also live yourself more and forgive yourself.

Pitta is digestive fire.it digests properly.in mind it is power to analyse understand and comprehend.it focuses your mind.

So see whatever ailment where ever it might be in your body in ayurveda we only bother about vata pitta and kapha since body heals itself once it is allowed to heal.

My best wishes to you.

Wow Teupne, thank you for the comprehensive reply. Yes I did the test since it's been recommended on the other threads and got vatta ~ 60, kapha ~ 30 something and pitta ~ 10 - very low.

This morning I had kinda epiphany. You know how almost all children are born with blue eyes? I was a very healthy robust baby with very abundant black hair and sound sleep. Then something happened - maybe vaccination effect - I don't know what - and my hair quickly went from black to white blonde and eyes green. I had asthma in that period of time. Now I know that meant pitta dosha went rampage. I never understood this, and also did not understand why at around the age of 6 hair abruptly went dark gray and eyes brown, so that's when vatta took over.

Children usually change their eye/hair color only once, as babies, but I extremely changed it twice. That was so weird, I've never seen it and I never understood it until now.

Age :from birth to 16 years is kapha period. (growth, accumulation, love, innocence, contentment)

16-50 is pitta period(focus , aim, ambition, goals )

50 onwards is vata period(decline , thinness )

So we move from heavy kapha to lighter Vayu. Pitta is in between.

We are all born with innate doshic tendencies and proportions. They never change.

Age effect only superimposes on this proportion.

Vayu people are lost in their thoughts and easily distracted. It is very difficult for them to focus and see through a goal.
They should be treated like a gentle sensitive flower.

They are most artistic (creative) people.can think original.they are talkative.

Key organ is colon.your tongue may have cracks.

Ayurvedic enema will help a lot.

So these are your challenges.

I can share much more.

Good luck.

Bitter: Coffee - yes - increases disbalance, makes my mind go even faster but that wastes energy so I'm more tired in the long run. I quit using it a few years ago. Green spices - I have positive effects, better digestion.

I did try to go vegetarian before but I can't assimilate enough iron without some meat in diet.

So do I need to eat or avoid sour salty and sweet? I switched to himalayan salt a few years ago.

"Being vayu you are addicted to techno ecstacy music."
Haha I giggled here. I'm one of rare people who like trance but are not drug users. Heck sugar is addictive enough I don't need more problems like that in my life! Lol

But I have a very varied taste. I make music that heals (this is words of others not mine), music that comes out of me is tranquil and slow, but I listen to the music that kills (fast, can be very aggressive).

Re-read and seems I need to capitalize on sour, it's the best taste for me.

You're right that homeopathy is difficult for diagnose. Remedies have so much in common and it's quite hard to pick the right one.

Triphala, I read about it before and probably will have a course with it.

I just feel that once you start healing gradually you would be able to wean off meat.

What's your country? Is it cold there?

Ayurvedically speaking when we are healthy we make healthy choices , when unhealthy we make unhealthy choices.

Ayurveda is simple and makes immense sense. It is a common sensical science and any individual can learn very easily.

Being a vata (air and space) you have a facility with music and speech.they are most spiritual and heal fast.

About meat, back in the day I tried to cut meat off for ethical reasons. But over the years I started thinking somewhat differently. Animals kill each other as well. Killing and death is the mode of life on this planet. You are forced to consume life (either plant or animal) to maintain own life because it's a world of death. Nowadays I'm for humane treatment of domestic animals and getting protein mainly from dairy or eggs to spare animals as much as possible, it's a more realistic solution. I don't like how vegans defend cows and dogs but disregard bugs per example. Show me a vegan that will keep cockroaches in his house and not exterminate them. Then he brags he likes animals and tells everyone else they are horrible people. Who allowed them to judge that bug as unworthy of life? It's hypocritical to disregard a form of life just because it's less similar to man.

Anyway, sorry for this little ramble. I'm aware I'm a bit passionate about the subject and wanted to explain where I'm coming from, but never intend to cause division or offense. I'll see how it goes in the future, maybe my constitution changes. And I like chicken and fish best anyways.

cosmicweaver 8 years ago
No problem.

I read your viewpoint.

Ayurveda says more advanced the animal in food chain more unethical it is to claim their life. Not just unethical but more tamsik their meat becomes.

True plants also are alive.they are lowest in food chain.Hence we should be grateful to them to sustain our life.Their consumption is relatively satvik.

Ayurveda says we should be compassionate to all creatures as far as possible and practical.

I am a vegetarian but if a mosquito bites me I will swat it.Because it is directly harming me.

Anyway my point is one should try his/her best as far as practical/possible it is.

Ayurveda motto is no pain no pain.So take no stress. whatever comes naturaly to you you follow. Go with your deeper instinct.Go with the flow.

I've been reading some more on proper vata balancing nutrition (because I wanted to know more specifically what to avoid/favor) and I have to admit Ayurveda generally confirmed what I already noticed was good/bad for me.

But it is said high vata people should avoid buckwheat. Buckwheat is a very warming food, and in a supportive way, not scattering energy like hot spices, shouldn't it be in fact recommended for vata? Maybe because it's a bit heavy? They're also against corn. But how about cooked sweet corn? I ask because I also eat cooked cornmeal and didn't notice it disagrees. Also warm cooked cruciferous vegetables do me good, but they are not recommended for vata. Maybe because it's warm and cooked and with oil, so that offsets the rough quality?

Another question. Onions and radishes are pungent. But I wondered if they actually qualify as sweet when cooked? They seem quite sweet cooked.

Dear cosmicweaver

Yes ayurveda is very simple and common sensical as it is merely an extension of nature as we are.

Reading it feels like your life history unfolding.

Buckwheat is astringent.K-VP+

means reduces K increases V and P.

For you best should be V-PK+

Corn is same.k-vp+ in excess

Writing from my book ayurveda encyclopaedia:swami tirtha

Check joyfulbelly. Com for all food ingredients and properties.

Yes every food has:

Rasa (taste in mouth)most imp

Veerya (potency hot or cold)

Vipaka (post digestive effect)

For eg. Buckwheat is astringent/hot/ sweet

Taste astringent
Energy/potency hot

Vipaka is sweet.

Astringent increases vayu.

Onion on cooking becomes sweet reduced pungency.but rajasik (turbulence)

Pungent by virtue of hotness balances vayu short term but long term will increase it. (Fire plus air)

Understand what elements each taste is made of.

Bitter (air and space)..so on

Diet changes will help a lot.Your goal should be increasing sattva and balancing your doshas (vpk)

To begin with detox is required.Being vayu your colon should have toxins. Your tongue may be cracked.dry cold .gas issues.etc.check ayurveda tongue map online.entire body organs are represented on tongue. Back third is the lower digestive colon. That may have a coating indicating toxins there.

Triphla is the best natural detox and rejuvenative for vayu.
Other imp herbs are ashwagandha
Sesame guggul vacha (mind herb)
Shatavar and Bala. All are best for vayu.

Read books on ayurveda .

Prakriti your constitution and

Encyclopaedia

Raw food salad not good for vayu, you coz low digestive fire.

Best for pitta.

If you checked your pulse it would be snake pulse.vayu

Frog pulse is pitta .Swan pulse is kappa.

This is ayurvedic proving.

If you take bitter taste in any form it would make you cold light dizzy. :)

Thus both healing and I'm balancing powers of taste.

I enjoy bitter :)

Teupne 8 years ago
Also tastes are all pervading made of elements.

Not just food.

People have tastes. You would dislike dry cold people most.

Like sweet people .also sharp aggressive people their influence increases that taste in you.(fire).

So people are also balancing or imbalancing.

Above analysis is mere example .This analysis/properties extend to all spheres of life relationships career. ....what not.

Ayurvedic psychology based on vpk gunas (sattva rajas tamas)

Is the most profound and best in my extensive experience.

It tells you why people behave the way they do. Why you think the way you do with one element pronounced.

No psychology/psychiatry can ever hope to go that far or deep. It is superficial.I know

Cabbage cauliflower pk-v+

Astringent and cold .worst for you.opposite of v-pk+
