day 1

Single dose of Bacillinum 200

day 2 to day 15

Mezereum 200 in morning and Sepia 200 in evening.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

as per the protocol no medicine should be given one day before or after giving bacillinum.

Since there is a difference of opinion, I would like to intervene.

All the three medicines suggested are capable of helping in ringworm cases. There are many more.

The choice can be narrowed down by asking more questions related to the patient as a person.

That is the fundamental principle of homeopathy and should always be followed for chronic problems.

Otherwise it becomes trial and error. Each medicine affects the organism in its own way, and if you want to experiment it is best to take one medicine at a time..take a few doses of one medicine, give it time to act, reassess and move on.

I don't believe in morning one medicine and another evening sort of prescriptions.

That is allopathic thinking with homeopathic medicines.

I will elaborate why the above method is unlikely to give results, in chronic cases, separately.

Rightly said Mr. Murthy.

The polypharmacy practice, in first place, is sign of weak faith in homeopathy and lack of patient in doctors themselves. If a homeopath believes in his profession one should follow it's laws.

Another reason could be inability to prescribe or arrive at a similimum with proper method. This problem is improvable provided one is willing to do so. If this is overcome the faith develops automatically. Constant study towards (properly) understanding Hahnemannian princliples and untiring efforts to implement them in one's practice is required. This is a painstaking task but it's worth it.

The third herdle is Patients themselves. If we give a single dose and ask them to wait for a month you can imagine what all can happen. most likely that they will seek some one else. They rather compell the homeoapths to divert from their principles. This problem is tough one to solve.

Lastly, whether chornic or acute the Hahnemannian principle hold good. Acute diseases are relatively easy to be suppressed. So, often it appears that the multiple remedies have worked well.

Please let me clear I am not criticising any one in particular but my comments are regarding the mojority of community as a whole.

Homeopathy is not a machine--gun but a but a rifle without a telescope. Sharp shootig is the only way to use it.

I've been taking aesculus and nit acid empty stomach once in a day in morning for 3 months as prescribed by a Dr.
Can I take besilinum 200?
If yes, then what is the interval to take the medicine?

good to see so much involvement.

my views- there are two specifics for ring worm, agreed, and both are very effective, but bacillinum is the most.

so if a person A has 8 cures out of 10 by prescribing bacillinum he will follow that approach and if the second individual has achieved 100% success by prescribing three complimentary remedies he has the rights to follow that approach.

In the instant case I would not and have not and do not wish to get a questionnaire answered.

how ever I am not averse to Mr Gavinmurty or Mr Kulkarni taking down the details from the patient and prescribing.

There is no end to learning and homeopathy is an ocean, if the patient goes to ten different guys for prescription, there will be ten different medicines prescribed for the same ailment. It is all perception based personality analysis isnt it?

anuj srivastava 7 years ago
Mr Gavin I was perusing one of your posts on prescribing for the same ailment where you prescribed BACILLINUM 1M,and when the patient said there is no relief you prescribed 200,was it a classical approach?Just curious.

anuj srivastava 7 years ago
Unfortunately that thread was deleted on request by the patient.

The patient was benefitted by Bacillinum 200 earlier. He asked a question, can he try 1M, this time.

I said yes. He came back and said it was not helping him.

This was my last post.

"Re: Ringworms
The information you provided is too vague to come to a definite choice.

Any way, did you try bacillinum 200c this time, before trying 1m?

Is there any change from the last time in symptoms?"

There was no answer and the thread was deleted.

Coming back to your question, there are lot of case histories in literature where a lower potency worked, when a higher one failed.

Hence I asked him that question.

Regarding case taking, I normally don't insist that one should take a very detailed case.

As you say, experience counts, more so, in skin problems without any other higher level symptoms.

One can definitely try medicines based on their experience. No issues, but one medicine at a time.

gavinimurthy 7 years ago
I do not intend to offend any one.Yes that was your only post which I perused.

So what in your opinion should be the right remedy because despite being vague the prescription was Bacillinum?

anuj srivastava 7 years ago
Coming back to this case, I will second your prescription. No harm in trying that way, as a first prescription.

The patient is telling he is taking nitric acid and aesculus together since three months.!!!

I don't know what to say about such prescribers.

Hi Riyaz

Anuj will guide you further.

gavinimurthy 7 years ago
three months is a long time with no relief.

anuj srivastava 7 years ago
what about people who prescribe 10 m without giving a thought?

anuj srivastava 7 years ago
They also will tell it is their experience. So, as long as they are prescribing singly, and not more than a couple of doses, we have to give them the benefit of doubt.

I feel it is a lesser risk than giving multiple medicines for months together.

what I have to do?

riyazahmad5 7 years ago
Go by Anuj's advice.

gavinimurthy 7 years ago
what about Dr Kadwa's prescription?

riyazahmad5 7 years ago
Use bacillinum as suggested by Anuj. Come back after 2 weeks. We can reassess then.

gavinimurthy 7 years ago
I took basilinum 200 two weeks prescribed by anuj.
Little improved. ringworms is disappearing gradually but itching problem is still there. In night time its itching too much. Next what to do?
