Eye infection and allergic reaction to medication in toddler

Hi there!

Our 18 month old daughter was diagnosed with an eye infection in both eyes last week. The Dr. prescribed Phenimixin eye drops.

For a few days, we gave them to her. We realized that within two hours of every dose, she would vomit and become extremely lethargic. Fortunately, we caught on quickly and discontinued using the drops.

Now, the infection seems to be coming back. She also has a 'barky' sounding cough and runny nose. We're not sure what to do or give her now.

Right after we stopped the drops, we did give her Euphrasia for a day or two on the advice of a homeopath. Our homeopath is unavailable now though and we're not sure what to do next since one of her eyes looks red and puffy again.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What else can you tell me about her, in particular what else is changed since this started?

What makes the eye condition better or worse?

How is her thirst and appetite?

What makes the cough better or worse?

When did this all start? What do you think might have triggered it?

she's been much fussier and having more tantrums. she's overall a pretty happy/healthy child but this has made her extra fussy.

what makes the eye condition better or worse?

i can't tell if anything effects one way or another.

how is her thirst and appetite?

what makes the cough better or worse?

i think the cold weather is making it worse.

it all started last week. i think the cold weather triggered it.

I need more information to prescribe. You have to observe more closely, and tell me how her cough or eye condition is peculiar.

Any times of the day when her condition is worse?

What do you observe in her eyes ? "infection" does not tell me anything. I need to know what is really happening. What do you observe apart from the red discoloration.

Describe her fussiness more.

Please be as detailed as possible in your descriptions.

You did not answer the question about the appetite and thirst below?

What is her date of birth?
