Hip Injury in 8th month - desperate!

In June of last year a persistant sore hip got worse and it began a journey that I'm still dealing with. I've gotten to the point where I'm discouraged and depressed over it. Being in constant pain is NOT fun! Especially when you are caring for two active boys under 5!

Symptoms: Feels like a constant pulled muscle in the back of my thigh, pulling sensation. It is also painful to sit for any length of time. IF I try to lie on my tummy I can feel the pain in my sacral triagle and down into my legs as a sharp pain.

Mostly in the back of my thigh right under my buttox. Right where the buttox meet the thigh. A very deep pain that can radiate down into my knee and on bad days my calf & ankle.

What Started it? It was more like a repetitive strain injury (I think) from nursing my son and getting up without proper support for my legs (as I was holding him). I can't think of any one thing that injured this muscle other than what I stated above.

When is it worse? When I first get up in the morning after sleeping all night. Right now I can feel it in my lower back and my leg is very sore. It's also painful if I'm still for any length of time (ie: driving, sleeping) rolling over at night is also painful.

When does it feel better? with movement and stretching. As the day wears it seems not to be as prominent but is still there all the time.

Sleep Pattern: I still don't have "my own" as I'm night nursing at least once right now. I do sleep fairly well other than that though. Not aware of any recurrant dreams.

Sensitive to: the feeling that no one really cares. No confirmed diagnosis so it's not a real injury. The fact that I just can't afford physio or other therapies is very upsetting. Feeling very overwhelmed by it and depressed. Feeling like it will never go away and I'll just have to live with it but I don't want to do that!

State of mind? depressed, although I'm a very positive upbeat person. I'm feeling very overwhelmed with this and I want so badly to be better and be rid of this constant pain.

Cravings? chocolate (which is very normal for me) sweets, nothing out of the usual. I don't really have any aversions that are abnormal.

Past Disease? I've never really been seriously ill. I've had 3 miscarriages, two live births, easy pregnancy and birth. I did have mono as a teenager and I have scoliosis.

No medicine reactions.

I have not been treated homeopathically for this injury although I have taken homeopathics for other things.

I think I've listed all symptoms.

Thank you for your time.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Your symptoms sounds like symptoms that persist in sciatica (maybe from scoliosis).

You should also look into other physical therapy (chiropractor, yoga) and techniques like acupressure.

For more info about yoga and scoliosis, go here.

Hope this helps

I guess I should have said that I've been seeing a chiro for about 4 years now. Sciata has been discussed as well as hip flexor injury. I also bellydance which seems to help, I've moderated the movements and have just got back on with this after an 8 month absence. Couldn't stand not dancing anymore. Can't really afford any physio etc that isn't covered by OHIP. So that is part of the challenge...
