Screaming in sleep

Hello
My brother in law screams in his sleep. Since his childhood he always used to wake up late and couldn't sleep until 3-4 am. About a year ago his sleeping habits have some what gone better . He tried chamomile tea to help him sleep. However he screams in his sleep and doesn't realize it or doesn't wake up. He sleeps on his stomach. He's heavy built. He hates hanging out with family. His mom always nags on him and be littles him to everyone saying he's irresponsible etc. so to avoid people and his moms comments he doesn't spend time with family. He is not that irresponsible or immature. He has really hard time getting up in the morning. And will prefer sleep to anything else.
He isn't married yet. And his screaming in sleep and snoring on top concerns us about his health and future.
He is always hot, loves to eat meat, smoker, snoring is genetic. He lost his father last summer but the screaming in his sleep has been going on for years.
Any suggestions on what will help calm his snoring ?
