I am 64 female
Weight 248 lb
Height 5 from 1 '
Last three months have lost 25 lbs.. First weight loss in years!
I have been overweight since around 8 or 9 years old.
Due to multiple ear and throat infections my tonsils were removed when I was about 7. I was normal weight if not under before.
I have noticed the heavy leg feeling for over 25 years. For example as a substitute teacher instead of standing most of day I would and still do seek a chair to sit in.
..if I don't drink enough water during day... Will have horrible leg cramps. In past few years even the upper thighs will also cramp.
I avoid caffeinated drinks or foods.. This will most times cause my heart to feel as if racing.
If I drink a decaffeinated herbal tea . Will cause me to pee a lot and majority of times will that night have leg cramps.
I do have spider veins but no bulging.
In last month I went through Hurricane Michael and am temporarily living in another part of the state with a sister. She goes shopping a lot so therefore more walking and yesterday the legs really were aching. I took my first hot bath/soak with Epsom salt .much improved.

To help during leg cramps I take 3 to 5 #8 hylands mag phos 6x. I will repeat if cramps don't go back away in five minutes.

Walking is painful at times because if left knee will hurt. I've not been to Dr but my guess is a slight meniscus. I take arnica 30 or 200 along with ruta grav and rhus tox 30 or 200 to keep the pain down and use a knee brace.. That seems to help but best is to stay off until it feels better on it's own.
My father in last few years of his life (died at 62 with lung problem) would wake up during night and have to walk due to leg cramps.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Hi eve,

I will let dr jitesh respond- but to clarify-

Cramping is both legs ?
Sitting down helps.
Dehydration makes it worse.

What kind of herbal tea are you taking?
What is in it? Herbs are powerful and have side
Effects. The tea , is at least doing one thing- dehydration
Which makes things worse.

Have you ever gone for a few days with no herbal
Tea? If so, what happens? Would be better to
Have mag phos dissolved in warm water before bed than tea.

Additional information:
For three months have had anxiety issues. My heart races..like the feeling as if you become afraid. It last long and doesn't hurt. I will take aconite 200 when this happens. Just one dosee. Doesn't occur every day but can. I am improving. I firmly believe it is stress related due family and financial concerns.

No, I do not strike my legs at night.

Leg cramps relieved by mag phos ..I take 3 to 4 one to three to timed til cramping stops.. Usually occurs mosty after 3 am to 4 am... Can happen more than once. Sometimes about one hour apart.
Yes it is both legs.

I don't have much tea. Occasionally I have a ginger tea or raspberry. If the insomnia has been going for several nights so will have chamomile at bed time.
I do not like cold weather at all.
In many a/c settings I will get a sweater to wear when no one is cold. I like mine about 78F in day and 76F at night.
Clothing I don't like heavy and try to avoid multiple layers. But want to be warm and will wear multiple layers.
I shower warm water and if feel too warm at end will rinse off with much cooler water.
I do not like to sweat. many times sweating will cause my scalp to itch till I have made it bleed.
Using a small amount of coconut oil will stop it. I can't see my scalp or back..I can't feel bumps or anything it just is very itchy. it occurs Everytime I sweat.
I like summer the best but not the high humidity because of the sweating. I enjoy watching it rain but prefer not to get rained on.
My hands and feet will be cold first. Then my arms. I prefer short sleeves and not sleeveless garments.

Since the devastation of hurricane Michael I have been away at my sister's house. I am much calmer and have had very few of the anxiety issues. I will go v back soon for my jobs which should be opening soon. It has been since October 10, 2018. My house will need a roof but not as bad as over 30percent totally lost their homes.
