Strep/ viral tonsillitis symptomsHi.
I started to feel slight soreness in my throat 6 days back. It started to accompany with body aches the next day, also I was very stressed mentally and had no sleep with my new born so I popped some ibuprofen to relieve symptoms for 2 days. Then 3rd day my symptoms got horrible. My throat pain got worse. Mostly started on left side but felt like spreaded throughout. My body and joints were breaking and started to get fever by evening 100F. Slight intermittent cough. Teary eyes left side. Pain to swallow liquids. Mostly warm water hurt more.
Consulted a homeo doc locally and he gave me rustox 30 and asked to follow with FP and MP 6x. It did nothing. Next day I went to allopathic doc as my baby was at stake. Doc said I have most likely strep and put me on pencillin. There was white coating on my tonsills. After 2 full day course my symptoms only aggravated. My cough became worse and more continuous whenever I got it. More dry throat. Pain started to shoot into my right ear. Even though throat was more painful in left. Fever with chills also went to higher numbers at night like 102/103F.
Again went to doctor. She changed antibiotics to amoxicillin to cover a possible ear infection and steroids for my flared asthma. Said lungs sounds fine.
After 2 days of amoxicillin and ibuprofens my cough is still horrible and increasing with excessive dry throat. Weather is super dry here.
Also the home path gave me MERC sol 30. I am not sure it did anything. I notice my throat pain shifting from left to right and back to left.
Still can’t tolerate warm drinks. But gargling helped. MP 6x is helping little with cough
