Arsenicum vs Arsenicicum vs Arsenicosum
Hi,In remedy names, is arsenicum the same as Arsenicicum, and is that the same as Arsenicosum?
Arsenicum looks like its mostly used at the start of a remedy name, but I'm not so sure about the other two.
Some examples from this site, listed as separate remedies:
Ferrum Arsenicicum / Ferrum Arsenicosum
Chininum Arsenicicum / Chininum Arsenicosum
But then others are listed as the same remedy:
Antimonium Arsenicosum / Arsenicicum
Kali Arsenicosum / Arsenicicum
The above are all listed as separate remedies. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Hermione,
In a word, yes, they are all the same.
Until you pointed it out, we had a few remedies with an entry under each pseudonym, but yes, Arsenicicum is the same as Arsenicosum, and both mean 'with arsenic'.
Sorry about our part in the confusion. It's difficult to keep the list right because a particular remedy is sometimes known by slightly different names to different materia medica authors, and that is the origin of our remedy index.
All the best,
Simon
