I'm curious to know how this mother knows how many times her son is masturbating? Does he do it in front of her ?or does he tell her how many times he is doing it? If so, that's really peculiar. And Bufo desire for solitude, to practice masturbation.
So if he does it openly, then Bufo may not be the right remedy and I don't know about how Cantharis would fit in the case.
Having said that, you can't choose a remedy from just one aspect. You probably ended up giving many with little or no effect.
