Pityriasis Alba on face

Hi,
My 12 year old son has Pityriasis Alba on his face.
They are white, scaly, patchy, flaky patches. They are not itchy and they do not bother him physically. But emotionally they are. It is not vitiligo.
He's had them in the past, but this summer has been the worse. I know it bothers his self confidence when people ask why he has these spots on his face. I believe these spots are appearing because of inflammation to the skin. The healthy skin around it naturally tans ( right now we are in summer time) but the damaged skin does not tan and stays pale. I do believe it is some form of eczema.

He was born with eczema early in his infant years. He has a sensitive digestive issue. Dairy and gluten gives him issues. He has a shy, calm personality. He has a healthy diet with a healthy eating habit. But he does not gain weight well, he is thin.

Please let me know what remedies I should try with him. Thank you!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Pityriasis Alba is not a eczema. It is usually go away on its own so you may just need to use natural moisturizer.

Thank you for your response. We have been putting shea butter and calendula oil on it for months now. But the spots seem to be getting worse. I noticed them a few years ago. But this year has been the worse.

How is it affecting him mentally and emotionally?

What does he say about the spots?

And does anybody say anything abut it? and is so, how does he respond ?

Also you mentioned that he has a sensitive digestive issue. What do you mean by that?

The spots makes him feel self conscious. He has said to me he wished his skin was nice and smooth.

When asked about the spots on his face, he becomes quiet, sad and withdraws himself from the conversation. He pretends to not listen to the question at all and distracts himself with something else.

Certain foods like milk, cheese, high gluten, or processed foods like take-out would give him stomach pains and diarrhea. I find that his stomach is most sensitive in the morning upon waking up. Sometimes he would even say he has headaches from these foods.

Thank you for your questions!

Please give him the following remedies;

Natrum carbonicum 30c twice a day for 5 days

and wait for a week

then give Psorinum 30c twice a day for 3 days

Report back in 3 weeks.

1 dose is 2 pills / drops.

Thank you for your suggestions! I will try them right away.
Question about the dosage - what do you mean by drops?
Is this the wet dosage? Meaning to mix 2 pills in water and give him 1 teaspoon per dosage?

BOPP 4 years ago
Drops mean if you are using liquid form of a remedy.

Hi,

Here's an update after following your above remedies for 3 weeks:

There seems to be some improvement, but at the same time, new white patches are still appearing on different spots of his face. I've including an updated picture. I will wait for your response.

Thank you.

Things seem to be the same. Old patches would clear up and new ones would form. There doesn't seem to be any difference. Please advise. Thank you.

Please start with Thuja 6c and Sulphur 6c twice daily for 15 days and report back.

1 dose is 2 pills.

Do I give him both Thuja and Sulphur at the same time together? Or Thuja first for 15 days and then Sulphur?

BOPP 4 years ago
Give about 10 - 15 minutes apart.
