Nosodes- definition of latent and active miasm

I know that some homeopaths say that it is dangerous to use anti-miasmatic nosodes, besides some indications (well indicated remedied fail, etc.). Others do not mention any danger with nosodes, except you should use minimum 200C potency.
They say, that the nosode can activate the "latent" miasm.
But how do you define "latent" and "active"? I am really confused with this, and I could not find an explanation online.

For example, if somebody always has had paper thin nails, has alopecia, sticky teeth, menses is smelly, recurring depression, self destructive, suicidal thoughts, hopelessness, cannot believe in healing, misanthropy, and other mental symptoms which are considered syphilitic, is the miasm dormant or active?
And if this person has scoliosis, had very crooked teeth (corrected with braces), has advanced myopia, assymmetries in the body, are those chronic symptoms considered as sign of a dormant miasm?

Thank you in advance for any answer.

Can't explain in detail due to shortage of time but will give you some pointers.

1) Danger comes from aggravation. Aggravation could be minimised if drainage outlets are strong and clean. Generally nosodes and polycrests that are constitutional make a push for toxin elimination, if there is congestion/weakness with eliminative organs, then there is a problem. So if there is aggravation with nosodes, the following remedy should be an eliminative polycrest or constitutional. Sometimes a drainage protocol with organ support remedies in lower dilutions can also help.

2) In complex diseases and in a modern person with multiple modern stress factors---there could be multiple miasms. Its rare that more than one miasm would be active at a time, but it's not impossible. However there could be one miasm active at a time. Treating that top active layer is important which will leave an underlying layer that needs to be dealt with later. Sometimes based on experience some homeopaths have devised simple standardised formula like treat Sycosis first, tuber second, Psora third and Syphilis last. But if a homeopath is able to perceive the active miasm or active remedy picture or active symptom profile, then they should be given first preference.
