Right low back pain, leg feels on fire across quadraceps, muscles spasming, muscles locked upI'm looking for the remedy for what my husband thinks is due to gym injury after lifting weights. The pain runs down the right leg. It begins at low back and curls around through right quadraceps.
He says he thinks a nerve is pinched somewhere in his spine at low back. The muscles feel like they are on fire at the low back and snakes around to the right quadraceps in a spasm. He says, "It feels like the muscles are locked up and spasming and won't let go."
He has to keep moving, can't sleep continuously nor find a comfortable position in which to sit or lay. He can't stand for very long. When he stands, pain shoots through right leg. When he lays down, pain is reduced to dull ache but pain is constant and mainly painful on standing.
When he walks, he has to walk humped over due to intense pain. Pain is always with him but worse when standing and/or walking. When he sits down, pain is better.
He is very athletic and an avid cyclist often riding 3000 - 5000 miles per year.
When he first injured himself, we started with Arnica Montana. Then, went to Belladonna. Then, because it seemed he really couldn't decide what he wanted, I gave him Chamomile. Then, Pulsatilla, Colocynthis, Bryonia Alba, then Arsenicum Album. It seems these remedies would be helpful according to the way he was describing his symptom picture but had little effect. The Chamomile did calm him some so he could sleep a little but really had no lasting effect.
Thanks for anyone's further ideas on this. He's going to the chiropractor in 4 days. We had x-ray's taken and have to wait to get results to the chiropractor. His medical doctor has scheduled him for physical therapy but we have to wait for two weeks to get in.
Age 66 (almost 67), in good physical condition. US Marine. Disciplined. Responsible man. We've been married for 38 years.

He can also apply hypericum oil for relieving the pain.
1 dose is 2 pills.
