insomnia after waking

Hi, I'm a 30 yr. old female with recurring sleep problems, and am having a "set" of symptoms making sleep extremely difficult (when possible!)

I've formerly taken several remedies including Phosphorus and Carcinosinum (both approx. 3 yrs. ago) by a Homeopath, and I have taken Aconitum Napellus 30c many times for sleep, but recently stopped taking it as I was doing a heavier treatment of Arsenicum Album 200c for acute problems. I also used to take Calms Forte for sleep which have no effect on my current symptoms. The A.A. seemed to bring a lot of "stuff" up and I did recently have an aggravation, but waited it out with improvement.

My remaining symptoms occur when I try to fall back to sleep after awakening(I never sleep through the night, never have). Unlike previous years, I now wake up sometimes after as little as 3 or 4 hours of sleep (used to always be 5-6 hours)and am exhausted but can not fall back to sleep due to:

*muscle spasms/twitching (seem to be shoulder, arm and hands/fingers)(a bit like a recurring startle reflex each and every time I begin to drift off)

*involuntary swallowing, making a "click"-ing noise in my upper throat as soon as I begin to fall asleep

I remain exhausted and very sleepy but cannot fall back to sleep regardless of meds/herbs, etc. This now goes on for hours and I never feel truly awake, nor can I attain full sleep. These symptoms occur slightly when I first go to sleep but not enough to keep me from initially falling asleep.

I'm concerned about over-treating with homeopathics and I am currently under the care of a Traditional Chinese Med Doctor, but would like to try to resolve these symptoms as soon as I can.

Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You have to first decide....r. u. going to take homeo treatment or chinese med treatment.

The two cannot go together.

For homeopathic treatment:

On three consective Sundays take :
Sulphur 200 (one dose each sunday).

Other days: Coffea Cruda 200

two doses in a gap of one hour before going to bed.

Post results after 10 days.

Thank you Pankaj for your response. It has recently occurred to me that I may be further confusing the remedy picture by using both Chinese Med. and homeopathy.

My Chinese practitioner would like me to stop homeopathics for the time being. I have had extremely good results with Chinese herbs for everything except sleeplessness! Because it seemed I could use the low potency Aconitum Napellus without it seeming to carry over for longer than 24 hours, I have continued to seek another, similar, homeopathic remedy.

I will take and finish my herbal formula within a week's time, if I do not experience noticable improvement with those, I will wait a few days and begin your prescription. It is interesting as I've never come up with either Sulphur or Coffea Cruda on my own or while working with a Constitutional Homeopath. I appreciate your help and will post again if/when I begin your regimine!
