Silent Reflux and Stomach issues since 6 Months

Hello All,

I have been suffering from chronic silent reflux (a derivative of GERD) for about 6 months now. It all started in 1st week of October 2019 when I had a very upset stomach for a week the cause of which was probably a prolonged use of apple cider vinegar first thing in morning, chronic addiction to black coffee, bad eating habits, heavy working out or a subset of combinations for a long period of time. At that point in time I tried a combination of Nux Vom 30c and Carbo Veg 30c but that did not help so I went to see an allopathic doctor who put me on a combination of PPIs, Gastroprokinetic agents a de-worm (to be taken only once), domperidone, digestive enzimes. This eased acute stomach symptoms but still left me with dizziness accompanied with blurry vision and a constant post nasal drip, which I had developed before I went to the doctor. The months following this episode, I felt my stomach was fine and I started to treat the other problems of blurry vision and post nasal drip. For Blurry vision, I went to a few eye doctors and they found that my myopia has worsened (it happened with this stomach episode, is there a connection?) quite significantly in terms of astigmatism (cylindrical power). Once I got the specs made, It took me months to adjust as the increase was significant and I am still finding no complete comfort (my eye specs are- S: -2.75 and C: -1 and Axis: 180 in both eyes) but is manageable. Once this was out of my plate I frequented many ENTs for my post nasal drip. I had my sinusitis checked (CT-PNS) came back clear. I was on anti-biotics and anti-allergic treatment for over a month but nothing seemed to work. during a visit to ENT, I was prescribed a nasal spray which thickened my mucous but stopped the problem of constant dripping. Soon after, however, I developed a chronic Sore Throat, globus sensation and pain in my pharynx which was again checked by my ENT, but she could find no apparent cause so she, after giving up on me, asked me to reach out to a Gastroenterology for my stomach might be causing problems. At first, it seemed counter intuitive, as I did not feel heartburn or gas, to go to a Gastro but I was out of options so I went anyway. The Gastro recommended some tests including an endoscopy which revealed that I have LPR(laryngeal phyrangeal reflux) and a minor H-Pylori infection. I took a course of anti-biotics for 10 days for Pylori but reflux symptoms continued and I am suffering to this day. Currently I am on esomeprazole 40 mg daily in morning and few more drugs including domperidone which have been helpful in keeping the throat pain away but I still have laryngeal symptoms and an occasional stomach pain/bloating. I am on a super-controlled diet with mostly bland food and salads and whenever I have spicy or oily food, both my stomach and throat are impacted with pain/bloating/gas which then are neutralized by 3-4 days of strict diet controls. As with many other diseases, there is no known cure for Acid Reflux in allopathy and the only way to live is to be on medication life-long. Hence, I am making this huge post and reaching out to best homeopaths on this platform/people who have faced this and have cured themselves of this disease. Please let me know of any tips, remedies, advice which might be useful to me to permanently cure this.

Wrong diet choices over time turn cell ph into
Acid instead of alkaline. One has to reset
The cell ph and the cell salts prescribed can do this, but the diet has to be changed to mostly alkaline for some weeks. And you
Will find that after that you can go back to some acidic
Foods- but limit them to once a week or so-
Because they will build up and cause the acidic
State again if they are a regular habit.

Thank you Simone and Anuj for your valuable inputs. I will get started with the remedy as suggested by Anuj and will report results after 7 days. As I type this, there is mild pain on the left side of my lingual tonsil and bitter taste in mouth. I am having full trust in homeopathy to get a permanent cure and I will keep updating progress here or reaching out for help, for the benefit of everyone who comes across this thread. I am planning to also slowly taper off allopathy.

Hello Anuj, Simone and others,

I tried the suggested remedy and lifestyle modifications for 7 days as per your suggestion. There is slight relief w.r.t stomach pains, bloating but I am currently still suffering from the following:

1. Bitter taste in mouth on waking up
2. Mucous in throat and mild choking on waking up
3. Throat pain, extending to ear, on left side around lingual tonsil region
4. My tongue is always coated white, most thick in morning
5. Constipation and irregular bowl movement
6. Occasional shortness of breath

I’ve also been taking an esmoprazol in morning daily along with gastroprokinetic agents occasionally. Still suffering from classic symptoms of
Laryngeal Pharyngeal Reflux (Silent Reflux). Lockdown has placed impediments to physical movement but I’m eating less oily and spicy food. Do suggest the regimen for coming week. Hoping to reverse this with the help of experts on this site! :)

Hello Anuj,

Took the remedy you prescribed and results were great. For 1 week I didn’t have throat pain and stomach felt great. I checked my tongue and it has cleared to only have coating on half the area as compared to before.

However, I had a couple of spicy meals last week and have been having thick mucous in my throat and mild chocking sensation. I’m back to having a restricted diet and wanted to seek your suggestion for a homeopathic regime for coming days.

Best Regards,

Continue same protocol and give a feedback after 4 days.

Dear Anuj,

Completed 4 day course as prescribed. Can’t say anything improved. I have throat pain in upper pharynx, more on the left side than right. The pain is minimal in morning and increases as I eat my meals. No heartburn, moderately coated tongue, phlegm in throat and sometimes mild difficulty breathing. Could you suggest if I need to change regimen?

Dear Anuj Sir and Others,

I have had some symptomatic relief. Choking has completely disappeared and I am having less bitter taste in morning and mucous is also less. However the following symptoms, especially throat related, are still bothering me a lot daily:

1. Pain in throat in the pharynx and trachea region, increases from minimal discomfort in morning to pinching pain in the night till I sleep. The pain is often on only the left side but is occasionally on right side as well. Gargling with water provides some relief and the pain is less if I eat less or late.

2. Feeling of something stuck in the throat, again more on the left side than on the right side. This is especially after I take pills.

Please note that I'm having Esomeprazole daily still and am on a restricted diet without spicy and oily food with a combination of alkaline and mildly acidic food. All my bloodwork is normal including ESR, THS, CSR, CBC, IgE, Liver, Kidney, Glucose levels. H-Pylori is negative.

I have researched a lot about this problem and my allopathic doctors including Gastro and ENT are not able to fix this. Trusting homeopathy will help with complete treatment. Please advice the regimen going forward.

It can take many weeks of right diet to get
Your cells back to alkaline ph. Then you
Can add in spicy, etc once in awhile. Your body
Will react when you cross the line.

Dear Anuj Sir and Simone Sir,

Thank you for your inputs all along. I have to say that I have been seeing improvements in my symptoms since I started this post. After your respective last posts, I started with the regimen as prescribed and my throat pain has reduced dramatically. Throat mucous has gone down dramatically. Tongue coating is also on the lower side. Limited/No breathing problems. No Nausea.

Having said that, I still feel there is a bit more ground to cover but confident will get there with your support. Current type and intensity of symptoms as follows:

1. Minor throat discomfort without pain, on left side only. Increases as I eat more meals. Doesn’t bother me as much now but want to continue regimen till it heals completely.
2. Mucous in throat only on waking up. Once I drink liquids or eat food, it goes away and I stay with very limited discomfort throughout the day.

Please advice regimen going forward.

Thank You,

Dear Anuj Sir,

Happy to inform that my throat is totally healed now and since starting your prescribed regimen in post above, I had a total relief for 8 days. However, lately due to sedentary lifestyle, I'm facing constipation issue with abdominal bloating. It has affected my sleep in night and is also causing sleepiness and fatigue throughout the day. Stool happens daily but not completely. Could you please advice medical regimen and lifestyle modifications to follow?

P.S: I'm having a very controlled diet mostly healthy, fresh foods. Very limited food has oil/spices.

Looking forward to your reply! :)
